was getting on the train with peter and the kids and the doors shut before i could get on with soph.

all i saw when the train left was 3 screaming girls and peter trying to comfort them/

didnt have a mobile with me, so spoke to guard who got me clearence for the other end as trasvelling without a ticket, due to peter having all the tickets in his pocket, phone my MIL who phoned peter to tell him i was ok and would be home an hour after them.

Peter has fed and watered the girls, mopped up their tears.

usually i dont travel with peter, as he is at work and its just me and the kids.

Happened to a friend of mine. She put her 2 toddlers on the tube train (underground), was folding the buggy, so there was room for her to get on and the train left with the toddlers. She pressed the emergency stop on the wall and the train stopped, but the guard said he could not open the doors, because the train had already started moving. The train went on to the next station where the guard assured her the children would be waiting for her. They were there waiting, but you can imagine what was going through her mind, and theirs.

This happened to a friend of mine on the same line (further up near Cambridge) . Her 8 year old DS got off the train and the doors shut leaving her and her DD and friends on the train. Thankfully the boy was sensible enough to press the emergency help button (quiet station.. No one else around ) and they managed to get the train stopped and reversed.

The joy of FCC!

This is my fear on the underground, as always on my own with my two. I get 3 year old on first, make him hold onto the pole, put one leg holding the door and then lift up the pram. Waiting for something similiar to happen, but how do you train a three year old????

this has def put me off using a buggy on the train, will be slinging all the time now.

Happened to me. exactly the same a few years ago.. my friend and I (7 kids between us) and the doors shut leaving me on the station with the tickets and my friend on the train with 7 kids, including my disabled child without his wheelchair as I had lifted him out to get it on the train....

they suck!

On the plus side I had a very peaceful 25 min journey by myself on the next train..my friend however was looking a bit stressed when I arrived..she was trying to keep 7 children happy and hold my disabled son while waiting for me....!!

Complain complain, complain....

i may have had a peaceful, but overpriced cup of tea whilst waiting for the next train

LoL at Macformes peaceful solo journey and misdees cup of tea. Im glad you are both resourceful enough to grab the silver lining!

Rather shocked at the amount of stories of this happening though.
