DP works from home but once a week has to go to the office in Dorset, so at 7am this morning we bundle the kids in to the car along with a rucksack with a picnic and head off, I will do things with the kids while he is at work...

Any way half way there a little voice from the back (belonging to my 9 year old) says
"mummy, I am still in my slippers!!!!

Now I had only said 4 times DS2 put your shoes on! First stop primark for some cheap deck shoes

DS1 was all for making him ware them all day, evil little sod.

DS2 has just gone to be saying "thank you for a wonderful day mummy, I love you!!!
Makes it all worthwhile

I took my 2 year old out a few weeks ago with NO shoes on. I have no idea how we managed that!

But awww to your DS2, that is lovely.

oldraver · 07/04/2010 20:42

Were they matching slippers ? That would be a bonus

RunawayWife · 07/04/2010 20:42

I guess I should be thankful he was not still in his PJS under his coat

Been there, done that. Several times, in fact.

Have always managed to blame DH, though.

RunawayWife · 08/04/2010 14:41

...can kind of beat all of those, I once managed to travel to London on a train before I noticed (when I got off) that I was wearing odd shoes. One Blue one Brown totally different styles and with different heel heights....

One of my better days....

RunawayWife · 08/04/2010 18:51

LOL

did you have to rush to primark????

nappyaddict · 08/04/2010 19:07

I would have made him wear the slippers.

RunawayWife · 08/04/2010 19:11

That was what DS1 wanted to do

worse, I rushed to the accessorize on the station and managed to find a pair of white moccasins - no idea what possessed me, someone actually asked me that day if they were 'surgical' shoes....

I left that job soon afterwards

RunawayWife · 08/04/2010 19:25

LOL, well DS2 now has a pair of checked deck shoes

in our house it's not a day out unless you have to buy an item of clothing.

meatntattypie · 08/04/2010 19:27

erm,
in the depths of desperate dark dark days of ds bieng little and i was surviving on 2 -3 hours sleep a night, i got to Morrisons and stepped out onto the tarmac with my full glorious pink fluffy slippers on.
Thought my pedals felt funny,

didnt even plan to go to morrisons, i was going to Asda, dont know how i ended up at morrisons, and dont remember how i didnt change my shoes.

I was a mess, a huge fucking exhausted dripping mess.

RunawayWife · 08/04/2010 20:36

LOL I posted something similar to this a year or 2 back about my DS going to visit Conwy Castle when we were on holiday with no shoes.I got really slated for expecting a 9 yo to be responsible for his own shoes!

RunawayWife · 08/04/2010 20:57
