Dh gone to play golf, back 3.30.
I know he'll come back and ask what we've all done.....well I've been to Waitrose, cleared the ironing pile and have been quite happy pottering thank you.
Played a couple of board games with dcs, till they argued, so chucked them out to play.
They are going on a bike ride with dh later.
I do not want to visit a National Trust property, queue on the A3 or visit B and Q-
but he will roll his eyeballs and comment about my lack of va va voom.
(I may go to the gym later.....)

I don't think he's got a leg to stand on when he's been off playing golf!

Fimbow · 05/04/2010 14:21

I have bleached my shower to within an inch of its life and I am not dressed yet. So you have done much much more than me. Dh is at work. I agree with you about National Trust properties, queues on motorways and B & Q (ours was even open yesterday!).

Pikelit · 05/04/2010 14:23

Strikes me that you've already done quite enough. We decided that we didn't fancy sitting in the quite avoidable traffic congestion that is jamming up the trunk road at the top of the lane. Culture is wonderful but home is fine for me today.

deaddei · 05/04/2010 14:27

Fimbow I am itching to clean the bathrooms properly - I know that makes me sound like a sad old cow, but I get quite uptight when things aren't clean.
I am planning a day at the National Gallery and other nice cultural things, when they're back at school or at least get a day to myself over the next 2 weeks.
Dh is one of these people who always has to be busy- I'm quite happy with a good book and a piece of cake, thank you.

I sat on this chair at 11.30 and haven't moved apart from putting some bread on and making DD some lunch.

EndangeredSpecies · 05/04/2010 14:32

Not BU at all, but you've done loads. I got up this morning and decided just couldn't face an Easter Monday barbecue-socialising thingy(it's also chucking it down) so packed the kids off with DH . Wearing grungy tracksuit and playing with the rabbit instead.

The silence is fantastic, I should do this more often.

MrsMeow · 05/04/2010 14:34

Wow, if that's your nothing, I must be a lazy beggar! I didn't get up until 10.30 DH is at work, so it's just the children & I here and all I've done is one load of washing, some dishes, made lunch and had a shower. I have no intention of doing anything else today other than making dinner later

deaddei · 05/04/2010 14:37

Lol at endangeredspecies playing with her rabbit (or do you mean cute fluffy animal?)
Dh just thinks doing housework on a Bank Holiday is a waste- just another day for me,

Rockingbird Don't I got up at 11 am when DH went out had a shower put on fresh pj, lunch was yesterdays left overs, DD is gone for a nap so I am on MN. You at least made bread
Deaddei it is a bank Holiday and I tend to only hear the holiday part you have done loads [esp compared to me] send Dh out wth DC and have a quite afternoon for yourself you deserve it

EndangeredSpecies · 05/04/2010 14:39

Yes very cute fluffy animal ... that's a double entendre that escapes me deaddei

LivedinLooks · 05/04/2010 14:56

YADNBU

I hate all this expectation on bank holidays to go and "do something". The weathers usually crap, you get stuck on the motorway and when you get there - everywhere is packed with other miserable sods who would rather have stayed at home. You return to work even more stressed than before the holiday. Ideally put your feet up or have a good spring clean - anything that actually makes you feel better.

lovechoc · 05/04/2010 15:06

I was trying to arrange dental appointments today until I realised 'duh - it's a holiday today!'. Just enjoy your day off and if you want to laze around the house why not? That's all I've done today with DS. Well, lazed around as much as you can with a toddler!

kansasmum · 05/04/2010 19:58

Oh I am so glad its not just me! I hate this expectation to DO something because its a bank holiday!! I live in Devon - which is lovely- but on a Bank holiday the traffic can be horrendous and like you say NT places are busy, I hate DIY stores and the weather was not great (it didn't rain though - for once!)

Dh cut the grass and washed my car with 'help" from ds!

I made lasagna and garlic bread (from scratch!), played with ds and watched Rosemary and Thyme while waiting for the washing to dry!

YANBU - you went to Waitrose and done the ironing- that's more than enough activity for a Bank holiday! I think you should go and sit down and eat an easter egg or 6!

jeansnolongerfit · 05/04/2010 20:36

I wish I had done nothing. Trapsed around the shopping centre with screaming dc's. Now sitting on sofa, drinking wine and about to start on the chocolate
