LetThereBeRock · 03/04/2010 21:53

I love tapioca.

Ponders · 03/04/2010 21:53

beetroot GOES

ToccataAndFudge · 03/04/2010 21:53

poshwellies - apparently my craved tripe all the way through one of her pg's (can't remember whether it was with me or my brother)

Mayonaise must stay

Beetroot only stays if it's pickled

stoppinattwo · 03/04/2010 21:53

poshwellies.......tripe lookes like a lard arse (i have one so i can say that).....bottocks clenched

stoppinattwo · 03/04/2010 21:55

my 11 yo told me about illiteration.....it could possibly be completely the wrong context...thats what happens when i try to sound clever!!

OP posts:
Ponders · 03/04/2010 21:56

my FIL ate tripe, boiled with vinegar but I think the vinegar was just so it tasted of something.

My mother used to boil up "lights" (???sp? ox lungs?) for the cat & we used to have to evacuate the house for several hours

poshwellies · 03/04/2010 21:56

Tripe is evil.It cannot be classed as foodstuffs.

Mayo has to stay as I have an addiction to it (thinks ham, mayo and rocket sandwiches)

Beetroot is fine pickled and is a staple summer salad food,roasted-NO!it's just not right!

stoppinattwo · 03/04/2010 21:57

OMG pickled eggs

OP posts:
mollymawk · 03/04/2010 21:57

YAmostlyBU except for the marzipan which is grim

I used to hate olives but have heroically trained myself to like them now

But agree fully with liquorice/star anise/five spice - bleurgh

I would add cheescake to the list personally but I think I might be in a minority there...

muggglewump · 03/04/2010 21:58

No, no, no maggots swimming in cum rice pudding.
The stuff is revolting and whoever invented it should surely be shot?

I do like a good gherkin though. I don't often eat a maccas, but I love the big gherkins from a jar, they're as big as your face and you eat them off a fork.
Um well some folk do, so I've heard

ToccataAndFudge · 03/04/2010 21:58

oh no the pickled eggs (and gherkins) can go, but ca we keep the pickled onions.........especially those little silverskin ones

poshwellies · 03/04/2010 21:58

Oh, used to have a pickled egg in a bag of ready salted crisps as a wee thing, typical somerset pub snack!

stoppinattwo · 03/04/2010 21:58

Hellmanns mayo can stay......especially with new potatoes, pickled beetroot yes....

cottage cheese definately not!

OP posts:
Ponders · 03/04/2010 22:00

maccas dill pickle = gherkin

stoppinattwo · 03/04/2010 22:01

but poshwellies....they chew grass in somerset dont they???

Mugwump.....your ricepudding analogy is v imaginative ...i think my tapioca is far more realstic.......and I have a similar reason for not eating potato salad...following a rather traumatic school trip

OP posts:
ToccataAndFudge · 03/04/2010 22:02

oh I'm with you on the cottage cheese too

stoppinattwo · 03/04/2010 22:03

one of the boys "did" something into someones potato salad...in their packed lunch.....

OP posts:
Lulumaam · 03/04/2010 22:03

you and I are going to have words, stoppin

stoppinattwo · 03/04/2010 22:05

liver, tongue and lambs heart!!!!!!

OP posts:
poshwellies · 03/04/2010 22:05

stoppin

I'll add beansprouts to the list. They taste like mud.

stoppinattwo · 03/04/2010 22:06

oops sorry lu, thought you were doing too well on fb, thought i would make my own food hate campaign!!

OP posts:
Heifer · 03/04/2010 22:06

Only refined people like olives

MudandRoses · 03/04/2010 22:06

I think it's alliteration, rather than illiteration, isn't it?

LetThereBeRock · 03/04/2010 22:06

Nooo not beansprouts! I often order a portion of them with my main meal when I'm having a Chinese takeaway.
