Suri Cruise - cute or scary?

This is the daughter of Kaity Holmes and Tom Hanks. Both are Scientologists, which, on the balance is definitely a weird Hollywood cult religion.

This kid wears hand made designer clothes, each item once only, and then its stored away in a warehouse. Its reported they spend £2,000,000 a year on clothing for her. They also dress her like a mini-adult, in high heels and makeup.

The way they treat her isnt normal. Is this kid going to be creepy when shes 16 or what ? She's going to make Peaches Geldorf look normal!!

Oh. My. God.

ImSoNotTelling · 02/04/2010 14:24

That beauty pageant link made me feel quite ill.

Why the americans (and other parts of the world?) are so into it is beyond me. They seem to have a thing about getting children to behave like adults - michael jackson etc. It's a bit strange.

fallon8 · 02/04/2010 14:27

didnt samantha cameron pose for apic, with daughter wearing a fairy outfit? Daughter wearing outfit not SC!!!

babyicebean · 02/04/2010 14:46

On another point - if she is off to a ballet class/ ballroom class should she be wearing the dance shoes in the street? All the classes I have done they don't want you to as you may scratch the floor if there is gritt picked up from the street.

SpicedGerkin · 02/04/2010 14:48

I doubt she only has one pair tbh.

MrsStig · 02/04/2010 15:01

babyicebean..she gets anew pair of ballet shoes for each lesson, of course!

lincstash · 02/04/2010 15:55

References to the money spent on clothing.

I do not post make believe.....

here

and here

and various newspaper articles which you can find by searching the sites.

The only real debate is whether its 2 mill or 3 mill....... either way, its an obscene amount of money to spend on clothes for a 3 year old.

Erm you think that gossip sites speak gospel truth?

Didn't it used to be put around that david beckham only ever wore his pants once, to the point where people accepted it as fact?

If Yabba Gabba (or whatever site it is) says it, then it must be true .

It's their money, they can spend it on what they like! I think she's a pretty little girl. Her name sounds a bit like a type of fish but she's cute.

MisSalLaneous · 02/04/2010 16:22

Had to laugh at that link, saying she changes her outfits several times a day. Uhm yes, as do I my 2-year old's - usually because they're covered in mud!

People are so jealous anyway - what IF they spent that much? Good for a struggling economy, they have the money, so why not? I bet if they only bought from charity shops there would be just as many people complaining how that makes it more difficult for the rest of us mere mortals to get hold of good quality second hand clothes at reasonable prices.

MisSalLaneous · 02/04/2010 16:23

("People" obviously referring to followers of that stupid site, not to the replies on here.)

EasterEggHuntIsOver · 03/04/2010 15:37

If Suri was going to/from ballet class, would she not have her hair in a ponytail at least? Seeing as she's already wearing her entire ballet outfit and ballet shoes IN THE RAIN?

In answer to the OP, Suri's parents can spoil her with designer clothes if they like. Helps the failing economy if anything. I have more pressing things to think about anyway

duchesse · 03/04/2010 15:53

She's a little girl. Nothing to be creeped out about.

How her parents decide to spend their cash is at best none of our business. I feel no vested interest in her upbringing, nor do I have any opinion on it.

Maybe somebody needs to stop reading gossip magazines...

paisleyleaf · 03/04/2010 15:56

There were links on here once of her in heels etc
But in that pic in the OP she looks perfectly sweet.

flyingdolphin · 03/04/2010 16:13

My god, she looks just like my dd's best friend (except she doesn't walk around in a tutu).
I think she is very pretty, not creepy at all, and I really couldn't give a about their lifestyle.

WorzselMummage · 03/04/2010 16:15

I think she's lovely

if I were rich I'd spoil my dc rotten too. Who wouldn't.

oneofsuesylvesterscheerios · 03/04/2010 16:25

No, everyone Lincstash is right - it must be true as the links prove:

  1. twas on the Internet
  2. 'a source' says it's true in each article
hobbgoblin · 05/04/2010 09:56

lincstash, dollars are different from these things: £££

You, however, are priceless in a I believe in fairies kind of way

AnnieBeansMum · 05/04/2010 10:07

Get a life. Who cares what celebrities do? Does it affect you, your children or your life? No. Back away from the sleb mags and get a freakin life!!

And referring to a 3 year old girl as creepy or scary is just plain sick.

Magaly · 05/04/2010 10:19

I think the creepy thing is the way the media have decided to demonise a little girl and TELL us that she is being brought up in a weird way, and tell us that she is spoilt pampered, not wearing the right shoes etc etc....

slebs are often zoned in on by the media, and it's a symbiotic relationship, but it's really creepy the way the media have put this 4 year old under an electron microscope for analysis.

SpicedGerkin · 06/04/2010 11:30

Magaly - yy

There was a pic of her in the paper the other day as she had slippers yes slippers on her feet!

nannynobnobs · 06/04/2010 15:45

I think she looks adorable. In fact I think TomKat should have another so we can see what it comes out like
My DD2 is 3 and has a pair of fluffy, sequinned, wedge heeled Tinkerbell slingbacks. They would make a unicorn vomit up its moonbeams. She loves them and I don't believe the time she spends wearing them is damaging her feet. Just my reputation as a sane parent.

5DollarShake · 06/04/2010 16:10

Am just loving the sites provided to prove this is gospel truth.

lincstash - no-one thinks you're making it up. We are a tad incredulous as to your willingness to believe everything written on a gossip (hint's in that word) site as true.

CheerfulYank · 06/04/2010 16:29

I think her upbringing is odd in that she is not disciplined ever, as Scientologists believe that everyone has a spirit that has been around for millions of years and thus the child is already "grown up" in a sense. It worries me when people act as though children are just small adults and can make important decisions for themselves. They are children. They can't. End of.

I also think it's in poor taste to spend millions of dollars on a child's clothes when people are starving. I have seen pics of Suri in clothes that she's worn before though. (Shameless reader of People magazine emoticon)

But when it's all said and done, her parents love her, make sure she's fed and sheltered and cared for, and do not abuse her. Every child should be able to say that.
