For taking another day off due to morning sickness?

Feel awful, been being sick on and off all day today. Had yesterday off for same reason.

Also had a day off about two weeks ago for same reason.

Should I drag myself in. I work PT 4-8pm.

AIBU to take another day off and will my employer think I am taking the piss?

Aw you can't help being ill, and i'm sure no one wants you to be in and throwing up all over the place! if you had a bug then you wouldn't go in, doesn't matter that it's preganncy making you ill, sick is sick nevermind the cause. (although if it was because of a hangover I would have no sympathy!)

Just so exhausted want to rest, lay down and not feel sick for a minute.

Dh is of the opinion I should go in and distract myself.

Depends really how bad you feel. Is it just guilt which is making you indecisive?

If the rest will make you feel better then stay off. If your just feeling lazy go to work.

If you felt as ill as you do and weren't preganant, would you go in?
I would be a bit concerned about you driving around and ill being exhausted.

I had the most horrendous morning sickeness (hyperemersis), and all that would help it was rest. It felt so debilitated but really pathetic saying I was off ill for MS, however I had a fab GP who could see how unwell I was and I ended up having about 2 months off work for each pregnancy.

My vote is stay at home, you'll only feel worse for having gone in, and you're conentration when driving wouldn't be great.

My morning sickness was horrendous with Dc1 and started at 6wks. I lay on the sofa, unable to keep down anything, even water and didn't go back to work until 12 weeks when it eased (but didn't stop).
On a 45minute commute to work I would have to stop the car 4 times to be sick! I had motion sickness, whilst driving!!

IMO there's a world of difference between feeling tired and a bit queasy/sick to full-on hyperemesis.

I went in. Was sick at work. Forget things which I will get in trouble for tomorrow.

Not a success story. But on the bright side at least I haven't had another sick day.

I really feel for you. I had awful morning sickness with both my pregnancies. I couldn't eat anything and lost weight. I tried to go into work but spent the whole time in the toilets throwing up. The worst day was when I had to puke up outside the globe theatre on my way to work one morning, there were no bins around and I had forgotten to put carrier bags in my handbag. It was horrible and people were obviously staring at me, probably thinking I was drunk or something.

You are definately not unreasonable to want to be off work. I ended up taking off 2 weeks sick for each pregnancy because of the sickness. It's worth knowing that it's against the law for your employer to discipline or sack you if you take time off for any pregnancy related condition.
