To go back and make them stick to their original price?

We are getting married early next year and, as our venue has no accomodation attached, we are hiring some log cabins which are pretty much next door.

We are in the preliminary stages of booking (no deposit gone down at the moment) and the woman at the lodges emailed me the prices for the weekend in question around a week ago.

I replied to her asking the next steps and confirming the prices. She replied confirming the original prices. Then today emailed her confirming which cabins we wanted (some family and friends are also hiring them) and again confirming the prices. Again she responded that they were the correct prices.

Anyway, about an hour ago she emailed again saying that she didn't realise that the weekend we asked for formed part of half term week and therefore the prices didn't apply and she attached the new list.

The new prices are around £50-£100 more than the originals.

I completely understand but I am quite cross about this, I checked several times about the price and she confirmed, via email, that these were correct.

Do I have a leg to stand on if I go back to her and ask for the original prices to stand? We originally asked for a discount on the originals as we were booking ten but this was met with a resounding no.

Thanks for reading, opinions very welcome!

I'm pretty sure as no deposit has gone down then there is not yet any formal contract and therefore prices can be subject to last minute changes.

I don;t know that you can make them stick to their original price, but you can certaily go back to them and point out that you checked the prices several times and they were confirmed to you as correct.

Also really as you are booking a number of cabins it would be usual for them to offer some sort of bulk booking discount, it's pretty disappointing that they weren't prepared to do that.

Basically, what I meant to say before I pressed post, was that I doubt there'd be any harm in you going back to them and trying to get the original quoted prices and pointing out that there is a financial crisis etc... Every booking counts and you are putting x bookings their way in a time of financial insecurity...

Thank you. I will give them a call, I knew the whole thing was going too smoothly!!
