yesterday i discovered the words 'CLEAN ME' on a mirror in the house

DH is definitely the culprit
do i qualify as a lazy slattern?

do i need to MN less and do more housework .......No

would your DH do this or is mine too cheeky? what punishment would be suitable for him?

I would write a message back to him saying

"you do it if it bothers you that much"

Plumm · 29/03/2010 14:01

Stick a note to his back saying 'KICK ME'

SHAVE ME

in toothpaste on his arse

HumphreyCobbler · 29/03/2010 14:03

He could have cleaned it himself in the time it took to write that.

This is not about your cleaning standards, it is about his rudeness.

mumblechum · 29/03/2010 14:05

My dh draws stick men in the dust sometimes.

I don't take offence, I clean it when I feel like it (have coal fire so gets v v dusty every day excuse)

coppertop · 29/03/2010 14:07

"I am an arse" written across his forehead in permanent marker while he's sleeping would be a good start.

aristocat · 29/03/2010 14:07

thanks girls, i was cross yesterday and he obviously thought it would be funny to write that.

i can see the funny side today but wondered what fellow MNers thought.

Sure he was only having a laugh. Not an especially funny one as we can all be a little touchy when our lack of house work is pointed out to us.

I would leave it there and see if he comments on it.

OrmRenewed · 29/03/2010 14:19

It's only offensive if you think it's your responsiblity to keep the house clean. He might have been making a comment on the state of the house in general - not as a dig at you. I'd choose to take it that way if i were you. If you get uppity it makes it OK for him to comment without doing anything about it.

Pollyanna · 29/03/2010 14:21

it isn't "our lack of house work" is it? it's his job as much as yours. I wouldn't see the funny side if my dh did that to be honest.

Uriel · 29/03/2010 14:23

Add to it, so it reads - CLEAN ME, DH'S NAME.
See if he finds that funny.

sunshiney · 29/03/2010 14:25

it could have been worse. he could have written "If only my wife was this dirty"

saw that written in the dirt on the back of a van once. very funny.

aristocat · 29/03/2010 14:25

thanks ladies - need to do school run.

Hmm, I'm a bit old school and think that if one person works f/t and the other either not at all or p/t then the latter should do the housework.

I know I'm probably a dinosaur. My dh doesn't really give a stuff about dust so I do the cleaning when it suits me (on the 2 days off during the week while he's slaving away at the pit face)
