I really really really cannot be donig with this man.
To think he wants to help run the show (and might well do.
Jesus....

He looks as though he should be wearing a powdered wig.

Peaceflower · 29/03/2010 10:30

Is no one willing to stand up for him? I agree a tan would improve him tenfold, but Mandy gives me the creeps and everytime I see Gordon, his facial tics gross me out. BUT none of these matter, it's what they stand for, that does.

There seems to be an increasing politicisation on MN, I fear.

TigerFeet · 29/03/2010 10:30

You can trust me with your cash. Honest.

MinicronPerseiEgg · 29/03/2010 10:31

Ooops, I got the wrong George (it was Galloway). Both creep me out though...

docket · 29/03/2010 10:32

YANBU

NinthWave · 29/03/2010 10:33

He looks like a waxwork.

He's our local MP and can often be seen in the paper, his wax hand on an old lady volunteer's shoulder at the local charity shop, or pointing his waxy visage at some primary school children.

orangina · 29/03/2010 10:39

I think he's farking awful. And yes, what is with the name change from Gideon to George? Urgh.....

Do think the Tories would be better off without him on board (and am by no means pro-Tory...). I don't think he's unintelligent (with that education he must have something in his head) but he comes across as a first class twit.

wubblybubbly · 29/03/2010 10:47

Yes schnitzel, he does! I'll not be able to watch him now without adding a virtual powdered wig

Rollmops · 29/03/2010 11:14

Hmm, I quite like him.... Rather dishy and for a change, knows what he is talking about, unlike the current lot.

orangina · 29/03/2010 11:23

are you just havin' a larf rollmops?!?!

(faints at "dishy")

ShadeofViolet · 29/03/2010 11:25

Rollmops - Are you Frances Osborne?

I think tonight debate on Channel 4 will show him for what he really is, if he doesnt melt under the studio lights that is!

Rollmops · 29/03/2010 11:27

No dahlin's, quite serious. I save my utter disgust and hatered for the one ond only Ed Ballssssss, may he rot in Hell.

moondog · 29/03/2010 13:42

Oh good
Not just me then.

dorisbonkers · 29/03/2010 13:44

He was George at university....

moondog · 29/03/2010 13:59

Seriously though, why is Gideon , say, better equipped to run the economy than me?
Do these peopel have Economics degrees or pg studies or experience?
Or (as I suspect0 do they make it up as they go along).
The older I get the less I buy into the 'expert' myth.

OP posts:
ShadeofViolet · 29/03/2010 14:02

Moondog - he did a History degree so no economist.

He did do data entry for the NHS when he left University, maybe thats where his experience lies?

moondog · 29/03/2010 14:04

Jesus.

OP posts:
JoeyBettany · 29/03/2010 16:08

ooh I've got a history degree

not as well connected though

dorisbonkers · 29/03/2010 16:14

His name isn't Gideon? I knew him from college and his name is George. Apart from that, I'm not divulging my gossip!

Oh, and all that Bullingdon stuff is always being whipped up by journalists who looked in from the outside at the Nat Rothschilds/Oppenheimers of this world. Piers Gaviston were the racy parties.

ShadeofViolet · 29/03/2010 16:27

'It was my small act of rebellion. I never liked it. When I finally told my mother she said, 'Nor do I'. So I decided to be George after my grandfather, who was a war hero'

Is a quote from George Osbourne from 2005.

dorisbonkers · 29/03/2010 16:57

Oh, I stand corrected. I don't blame him.

orangina · 29/03/2010 17:33

He was Gideon at school. Have a pal who was at school w him, and he was always Gideon there.

Said pal always thought he was down playing the whole jewish thing (and pal is jewish himself...)

dorisbonkers · 29/03/2010 17:57

For what it's worth, and I may be proved wrong, but I don't think he is jewish, although there's been a lot of crazy blog stuff after that yacht thing.

gerontius · 29/03/2010 18:01

VINCE CABLE is the most qualified. He has a doctorate in economics. I love him

carocaro · 29/03/2010 18:01

I live in his bit, Tatton, we get this lovely glossy magazine through now and again with him at various schools/churches/fire stations etc, he wants us to think 'Ooh isn't he fab, really involved, really cares' then you sit opposite him on a train table from Macc to Euston and you hear him and his posse speak and you think 'no no no and no' because all his gang were so sicofantic to him and his laugh was quite guffawing and horrible.
