to think that if everything in the washing machine is white...

then any sentient being would realise that the white stuff had been specially selected for - I don't know, why don't we call it a "white wash". And not then, whilst I've gone out to do the shopping, proceed to stop the washing machine, throw in a load of random black and red stuff?

Have just gone to take out the nice clean white clothes only to find that they are all now vaguely brownish grey.

Why? In what way is this helpful?

AIBU to think that hanging's too good for anyone who does this?

Oh how dim! I'm going to go out on a limb here and say was this a bloke?

GerbilMeasles · 28/03/2010 20:46

Yes, was DH. He has previous form on this (DS had to do PE in bright pink shirt a couple of years back, because of red beach towel in with white PE kit) and so I normally set the white stuff going as soon as I get up in the morning, to try to avoid this happening.

Will rant at him in person shortly, but it'll go straight over his head, and he'll no doubt tell me that he was cleaning the bathroom (which he was, no problem with that) and so he put the dirty washing in the machine, rather than leaving it for me to do when I come back.

Heart in the right place, can't deny that. Not sure exactly where the brain is though.

No you are not BU. my DH is an only child and though he 's quite happy to do his own washing he often mixes lovely light pink shirts with his dark trousers.

He finds it difficult to "mix" his washing with mine and the DC's to have a full wash for the environment (our machine doesn't have a small wash cycle) He's programmed in the past.

Dh did this a few times just after we got married.

Then he turned all his socks and pants pink one Sunday.

He was in the military and had to wear them on the Monday.

'Nuff said.
