Ok, so I posted on the health topic yesterday but got no response so thought I'd go for a wider audience...
Got a horrendous bout of herpes a few weeks ago. Was really shocked when the doctor confirmed what it was. I've always been faithful to my husband and we've been together for over 10 years. I know chylamidia (sp?) can stay dormant in the body for ages, but nothing i've read on herpes suggests the same. Can I assume he's cheated on me at some point?

I have it. And my first attack was so painful I ended up at the hospital. 12 years later and I have no symptoms and no pain. I think sometimes I get a blister but it doesn't hurt. It's really no big deal, honestly. (the condition itself, not how you contracted it)

I have it, type 1 from DH's cold sores on his face!
even though i know it doesnt go away, i dont think about it like-i have herpes. to me it feels like something i had once really badly, and now its gone...
i cant imagine how id broach the subject with anyone else!
you need to find out whether its type 1 or type 2. if its type 1, dont worry. if it's type two, you need to go-DH, i have discovered i have herpes, have you been having any discomfort?
you are surprised, he is shocked and then worries about his man bits!
at least your first bout is over, mine was awful. i didnt know what was happening!
