To think that milky coffee and chocolate biscuits are a vile breakfast for your children ranging from 4-10

Obviously IABU for reading that's life in the Dr's surgery

But seriously, this story, about something totally unrelated to the children's diets began with the mother lining up milky coffee and chocolate biscuits for her children aged 4-10.

Not as a special occasion, as their standard breakfast.

Surely no one is that poor or that thick that they really can't come up with something better than that.

The woman has 10 kids now, god knows how they all get fed.

which story?

tummytime · 26/03/2010 15:59

As a teenager and I think as a child as well I point blank refused to eat breakfast ever so either had a 'latte' or a hot chocolate. At least it was something...

SPBInDisguise · 26/03/2010 16:01

just read the first story about a baby called Emarni
correct me if its a proper name but i assume its another spelling of armarni

WillowM2B · 26/03/2010 16:06

SPB "I sued after having this health baby" page 8 of 'that's life!'

lowenergylightbulb · 26/03/2010 16:07

Maybe mum and her 10 kids were resident at the chalet school? They had milky coffee and cakes non-bloody-stop iirc, all the pupils slept for 15 hours a night and were very skinny (apart from the common girls and servants who were all lardy)

caughtinafog · 26/03/2010 16:08

oh, every morning I have a milky coffee (organic non homogonised milk, natch), which I refer to as a cafe au lait , & a banana...but then I am 41.

YANBU.

PS at least cereals have vitamins/minerals (+sugar & salt)...not sure of any biscuits with this 'bonus'

WillowM2B · 26/03/2010 16:08

Oh FFS. "I sued after having this HEALTHY BABY" even. thats life!

OtterInaSkoda · 26/03/2010 16:09

Yes but Belle, fast doesn't always mean bad. Expensive perhaps, but in the scheme of things an Innocent smoothie is about as good as these things get. Or are Innocent smoothies the new Fruit Shoots?

Shaz10 · 26/03/2010 16:09

I never read the magazines at the doctors'. All those manky sick people touching them... ew!

Francagoestohollywood · 26/03/2010 16:17

To be honest, I usually get my vitamins etc from fruit and veg, therefore I allow myself (and the children, even if they don't drink coffee) a breakfast full of carbs.

SPBInDisguise · 26/03/2010 16:17

I must have the wrong magazine, p8 of mine is "This is for you mum"

chegirlWILLbeserene · 26/03/2010 16:19

They mags change on Thursday SPB so you have the new issue

(somewhat of an expert on these matters)

WillowM2B · 26/03/2010 16:21

Oh dear SPB Totally wrong magazine I think. Unless the "Mum" is the recipient of a milky coffee and biscuit in your page 8 story they would appear to be miles apart.

SPBInDisguise · 26/03/2010 16:23

I had my best judgey pants on
oh well - sure they will still come in useful

SinninHinny · 26/03/2010 23:11

rofl @ chegirl's expertise

And the Chalet School and their bloody Kaffe und Kuchen (umlaut missing).

shockers · 26/03/2010 23:21

That probably has far less sugar in it than crunchy nut cornflakes and milk which I am guessing wouldn't be a problem?

SPBInDisguise · 27/03/2010 11:33

that magazine was a fantastic read
enlightening and entertaining

coldtits · 27/03/2010 11:36

I can't make myself care. I really can't.

Sorry.

I'm not even going to justify what I shovel into my own ill bred offspring.

SPBInDisguise · 27/03/2010 11:38

i cared enough to buy a copy
they owe MN the cost!

3ismylot · 27/03/2010 13:10

I really wouldnt believe anything in the article tbh
I have been in Take a break and found it hilarious reading the finished article as I didnt recognise a single thing I had told them!

The money came in handy but I would never do it again

OtterInaSkoda · 27/03/2010 18:32

Gosh 3 - you were in Take a Break? What was your story?
