God, that sounds so selfish. Here's some background. BTW, I also know that this could've been so very much worse, just need a rant.
DS (11mo) has various disabilities and I am his full time carer. I also have mobility issues and I'm in pain most of the time. We have a DD11 who is fab and I couldn't be without her help.
However, DH was out chopping wood last Saturday and came screaming into the house for me to "come here", which I did, to find blood spurting out the end of his thumb. OUCH! Now, I'm great at pulling my big girl pants up and getting on with it but this made me green. So I called an ambulance after holding his arm above his head, wrapped in a clean towel etc..... then asked our neighbour to go and look for said missing part of digit in the wood shed. He found it, and I stuck it in a bag of frozen peas (they were BYGOF at shops so happy days!! ) and off to the hospital.
He came back on Saturday night with a view to going back first thing Sunday. So there's me looking after him and DS, DD can take care of herself in most deparments. He went back (neighbour has been taxi service as I can't drive that far) they admitted him as were going to reconstruct the end of his thumb that day. Got bumped due to emergencies and has gone in today for the op
AIBU for being a tiny bit cross that this could've been avoided if he wasn't holding the piece of wood as he hit it? He said he was "steadying it". I feel so bad for what he is going through and I'm sure he feels v bad for adding to my workload but I can't help snapping at him......
I think I just needed to confess that I'm a bit cross and that he should've known better. BTW - he has a terrible track record of breaking things, glasses, bones, and getting injured doing the most simple of tasks. And he didn't bring my peas home
