No Batty, I was all woman last time I looked! . Seriously, is there any reason why you couldn't learn to drive? I didn't learn until quite late, but I can't imagine how I would cope without it now. It gives me a real sense of independance, knowing that I don't always have to rely on DH to take me shopping etc. We can share driving on long journeys and I can take my Mum out in school holidays. when the DCs were smaller, I could take them out for days, or even away for a couple of days. And it also meant that if they were ill, I could get them to the doctors etc. Nowadays I drive up to visit DC1 at university, which would otherwise have to wait until DH could do it at weekends.

And, I can go to buy custard doughnts whenever I want!

So, how about it?

Your right, of course (like my DP is when he tells me this, but I don't tell him that!). I am learning, failed my first test not long ago Have since had alot of stuff going on, but will be booking it again soon, I have my own car and I'm desperate to drive!

Well, I wish you luck. My instructor told me that those who pass second time generally make better drivers because they have usually had a lot more practice before being let loose on their own. I was pretty p*$$£d off when I failed my first test, but the second felt a lot easier. I probably wasn't so nervous! And just think of all those custard doughnuts!
