When i found out i was pregnant i was sure i knew when i concieved.

When i had an early dating scan it showed i was 8 weeks when i thought i was just over 11 making me just a little over 3 weeks wrong.

My dating scan showed i was even less far on in my pregnancy showing i was four weeks wrong.

My first scan tied in almost eactly to the day with my 20 week scan but i still wasnt convinced.

All scan dates showed i got pregnant around the end of july could all this be wrong and i was possibly right on thinking i got pregnant a month earlier?

I did have a period between the two months but its not impossible to bleed when youre pregnant is it.

Any chance the 8 week dating scan could have been over 3 weeks out?

My daughter was born 2 weeks late of the date the hospital gave me which means she would have been over 5 weeks late at birth if im right. Could this be possible?

She weighed 8lb 3oz at birth and has always been about average on her height and weight charts.

With dd2 we were actively trying for a baby so I knew all my dates. When we went for the scan I said I was 12 nearly 13 weeks they said I was ony 11 weeks.
They pushed my date back by 2 weeks even though I tried explaining to them over and over again that I had along cycle, not the usual 28 days they wouldn't take it into account.

Dd2 was born 1 week overdue according to their dates and nearly 3 weeks overdue according my dates. Her skin was dry and peeling around her wrists when she was born and I asked about that but they just said that it happens sometimes, I wasn't convinced but in the long run it didn't matter, it just bothered me that they wouldn't listen to me about my dates.

Scans can be and are wrong in some cases.

But with the rest of the things you said it doesn't sound like they were as wrong as they would need to be for you to have been so overdue.

I don't know about a failed implantation, but the cycle after a miscarriage is usually very fertile. I'm sure you could have gotten pregnant right after if that is what did happen.

As far as I know, the only way you'd know if you were nearly pregnant and it didn't continue (without it being all medical) is if you were a temperature charter and your temp stayed higher than all your other cycles for longer.

But like Kat said - we have no idea how many times a potential pregnancy just doesn't implant or isn't viable.

You could maybe have a look at Natural Family Planning (maybe the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility or on the Family Planning Association website) - not necessarily to use as contraception or to conceive again, but just to give you more of an idea about your cycles if you're interested in how it could all have been timed.

oh, also - the cycle after a miscarrige or in a cycle you don't ovulate in; you're counted as fertile from day 1 of the next cycle. If you're thinking that the times don't match up with what your cycle would normally be like it could be something like that?

You can bleed during pregnancy - I did quite often with DD2 , including what I took to be a light period when in fact I was 4 weeks from my LMP.

ladylike - had a scan soon after I discovered I was pregnant because I had a little bleed. I thought I was about 11 weeks and they said I was 9. I argued till I was blue in the face, but it didn't seem to matter that I hadn't had sex at the time to make it possible for it to be 9 weeks. 9 weeks it was.
