Are you a fan of Jim Carrey. Were you thinking of seeing this film because it is a comedy? If so, don't, because it's NOT. It is a sad and badly written film which also includes graphic gay sex scenes and graphic gay sex talk, mostly set in a prison. That's fine if that is what you want to see, but it is being missold to us and - our teenage children - as a typical "madcap" Jim Carrey comedy.
You have been warned!

Trailer and if you watch to around 28 seconds in, then yes I think it definitely qualifies.

LetThereBeRock · 21/03/2010 12:56

Down with this sort of thing!

carocaro · 21/03/2010 13:00

Are you the same person who has just knocked on my door, kids in tow in suits, interupted my family time to try and tell me about Jesus?

I told him, politely, that I was aware of who Jesus was, and I did not need someone at my door telling me about it. I am an adult and can make up my own mind.

Jim Carey films can go either way. There are great ones like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, the Truman show. But then there are a load of crap ones where he's just too annoying to watch it through.

I don't know what this one's like - if it's any good or not.
But I don't think it's being missold to us.

I hadn't watched the full trailer but I certainly would have done before going to see the film, or do you like wasting cash on films you no nothing about? Short trailer on tv looks like a slapstick comedy but I would still go and see it

antoinettechigur · 21/03/2010 16:35

Well I haven't seen the film but I already knew it was a gay romance/comedy set partly set in a prison. There are both gay and hetero sex scenes - interesting that only one type bothered you OP.

Do you only go on actors' past films to decide abou what you are going to see? Because you should know that "Stardust" is nothing like "Caligula", despite Peter O'Toole being in both of them.

"Always looking for new experiences*"

*except anything involving Gay Sex Talk.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 21/03/2010 19:14

Erm , mis-sold ? Where ? I've seen several reviews. It's clear it's about a gay couple in love, and as a 15 I'd expect some loving interaction between them. Get off your high horse or you might be mistaken for someone who is homophobic.

Hemprose · 21/03/2010 19:31

Burn the witch!!

Jamieandhismagictorch · 21/03/2010 19:35

no no, I wouldn't go that far. but for a first post, you certainly are starting controversial

carocaro · 21/03/2010 19:39

Go and see Chloe with Liam Neesson and Juliana Moore, no mention of lesbain sex and kisses in the trailer, but there is!

Shaz10 · 21/03/2010 20:41

carocaro you think they'd make more of it, more people might go and watch it then!
