He didn't want to use it at my house he wanted to take it to his( something to do with his x-box). I said I didn't want him to take it to his but was welcome to do whatever it was at my house. He sounded like a stroppy teenager on the phone after that saying " oh fine, it doesn't matter you're boring me now" then he put the phone down.

Not heard from him or his girlfriend since. Dh says they ignored our ds when he shouted of them yesterday.

YANBU

Frankly, I wouldn't trust someone as childish as that to take care of my stuff so wouldn't lend it.

its your laptop, your choice where it goes! Sounds like he's acting like a spoilt brat throwing his toys out of his pram...

Treat him like you would a toddler! ignore him!

Tortington · 20/03/2010 20:27

phone him up and say arsefart then put the phone down.

ShinyAndNew · 20/03/2010 20:28

YABU not to lend him it unless he a history of breaking or not returning things. He is BU and childish in the way he is behaving now.

Fluffyone · 20/03/2010 21:58

YANBU to decide not to lend him your laptop. Why should he take it away? You might need it.

Tigurr · 21/03/2010 11:06

YANBU in not wanting him to take it away. However, you say he needed it for something for his Xbox? There is (allegedly ) a way of "cracking" xboxes so that you can rent a game and then store it on the hard-drive (therefore getting "free" games). "Apparently" you need a laptop/computer to do all the jiggery-pokery for that.
