Namely:

  • People who post nasty comments on threads without reading the whole thread. I mean what is the point?
  • People who post 'Is this all you have to worry about etc' or variation there of.

And yes, I clearly don't have enough to worry about that these things are irrationally annoying me.

Yanbu BUT would rather see these annoying things than try to navigate my way through some sickly sweet or overly sanitised boards. It's nice to know that bad days and limited concentration don't bar us from posting.

'I hold my hands up and say that I will pick people up on their spelling or incorrect use of a word but only if they have been really unpleasant or are being totally up their own arse and making outlandish claims about other posters. When that's the case, there is nothing more enjoyable than knocking them down a peg or two by pointing out their ignorance'
But it doesn't take them down a peg.It just makes you look as though you've run out of arguments and are being petty, and annoys others who don't want to read it.

when folks crash into a convo stating they have not read all the thread but blah blah here's my take on it then they invariably look like a tit because

A the convo has moved on and we are now discussing the finer points of moss stitch and casting on

or

B the Op has been back and has said yes I see I was BU, cool

displayuntilbestbefore - it is fair sport

Everyone makes mistakes (spelling etc) when typing on a forum like this - for some it's just typing quickly, or not proof reading (I never proof read posts) and some people are just bad spellers (I am surrounded by them in RL!!), but I'd rather they weren't put off posting by people being pedantic on 'regular' threads - it is the height of rudeness to correct others (except as per DUBB 'rules' ).

What I hate more are 2nd posts (sometimes 3rd etc) their there, know now or Oh sorry I can spell cat - people making posts to show they do know how to spell, which word to use - it's not necessary!!!!!!

tracey I sooooo agree re "Is that all you have to worry about?"

I cannot stand the competitive misery/poverty that follows. reminds me of Monty Python's Four Yorkshiremen.

You were lucky.

TiggyD · 21/03/2010 16:04

If people who post "Is this all you have to worry about etc" is all you have to worry about, then you have have much to worry about.

It can be annoying when somebody doesn't read all the posts in the thread can't it. Somebody may have already agreed with you, but as I haven't read all the posts, I'd only be guessing.

TrillianAstra · 21/03/2010 16:06

What, only 2 things?

Unless the two things are:

1: the posters

2: the things they say
