I met DS1 after school today and he was a bit subdued. As we walked up the road he started talking about an incident that had happened between 2 pupils, I have to admit i was not listening 100%.I stopped dead in my tracks when he said

"and a boy in from other house (their school is split into 3 houses) met up with a girl from my house and he has raped her, everyone is talking about it he has been excluded and the police were in the school today"

I was really shocked and am sat here in a terrible state, ok i know it was not anything to do with me but hell it churned up some of my own shit.

These are a 12yr old boy and an 11yr old girl.

troublewithtalk - don't start mudslinging/shit stirring. As a free society we should be able to discuss these issues.

The school absolutely needs to communicate officially with parents about this incident. They need to have the students addressed by counsellors to explain what has happened (if anything has happened) and discuss the matter with the students, address questions, etc. The parents need the correct information so that they can talk with the students about this themselves.

There's a pic of your son in his school uniform on your profile. I think you have this thread deleted.

The photo has been removed now.

I am not drawing conclusions/making judgements.I simply said i feel awful for the girl and wondered where 12yr olds get the inclination to want to do something like this.

Troubled, really a bad question to ask me as a rape survivor. Of course I would be devastated for the girl.

Troubled if he has raped her which is what has been said then he deserves to be charged.

The thing is, you have a ds of similiar age.....yet you are so quick to judge here! You only have gossip and hearsay to go on.

Ss and police will be investigating. It's confidential. So the school told you what had happened??
I doubt it
you will know the bare minimum....... The rest willbe made up to suit the storyteller

how will you feel if it was over exaggerated, the girl might be in the wrong too. Rape is a strong word which I doubt the police and ss and even school, would use

TheLadyEvenstar · 19/03/2010 19:47

Three I am not judging I am saying if it is true then it is one of the worst things i have heard, and after speaking to the school about something unrelated and mentioning how this "rumour" (exact words i used) had affected DS1" I was told there had been a serious allegation against the boy with regard to the girl , the police were involved and that the pupils in yr7 had been spoken to by the school earlier in the week and been asked if anyone had any information to come forward.

They were also told that it was ok to inform parents but if they were heard talking about it in school the school would presume they knew something and pass their names to the police, tbh i think this was done to prevent rumours.

I have a meeting on Monday with the head of the house DS1 is in where this subject although not being able to be discussed will be mentioned. I cannot go into more on that subject atm.

Of course if this is the case that the boy has raped the girl then yes he deserves to face charges.

Mary, I agree. 'an allegation' is just that

chipmonkey · 19/03/2010 20:22

Innocent till proven guilty.

I think this thread is very worrying.Even if an allegation has been made ,it doesn't mean it is true.As this is a very unusual case I wouldn't like to think we were in any way prejudicing a fair trial if this goes to court.
