Those weekly mags where you get little bits to build collection/build object

I've thought this before about these mags. Have just seen the one for building a replica of Nelson's ship Victory.

It's £5.99 per mag, and you buy over 100 of them to get the full kit to build the ship.

That's over £700 for what looks on screen to be a pretty basic model, with little detail.

I am sure that for just a fraction of this outlay you can get a much more realistic kit to build, that looks better.

They are really taking the P*.

I collected the whole 'Real Life Crimes' set a few years ago. Got to number 100 and thought that'd be it, but it wasn't. Began to hope it wouldn't be too much longer, and finally it ended. I didn't like to stop by then because I'd got so many already!

my mum insisted on buying the teddy bear collection set for ds when he was about 2 as an 'investment'... Ds is 10 and we have an attic full of boxes of the bloody things, he doesnt want them and they are worthless! 150 times £5! Wish she'd just put the money into his post office account that she opened when he was born... That has a total of £50! Arghhh
