cheesefarmer · 18/03/2010 20:37

I am delighted now that I have got rid of all the farm shite etc from my news feed. And have posted a status update to say as much. Not vague at all!! TBH I hate the vaguebooking too.

RedBlueRed · 18/03/2010 22:49

Thank you Cyteen.

I was inspired after going for a smear.

stressheaderic · 18/03/2010 22:59

Copied and pasted just now from the status of one of my fb friends, between 2 of my work colleagues:

X... is not feelin the best!
14 minutes ago · Comment ·LikeUnlike

Y - wot's up chick??

X - just not feelin well hun, deffo comin down with summin x

Y - aww not gud x x hope you feel better soon chick x x big hugs

X - thanks hunny xx

Why does this kind of shit make me want to slit my throat? Wtf is 'hunny'? I waste valuable seconds of my life reading this gibberish too...

blinks · 19/03/2010 09:11

summin? gud? hunny?

does your workplace employ children?

NomDePlume · 19/03/2010 09:21

another reason avoid facebook.

I am building up quite a list....

lostinwales · 19/03/2010 09:27

Will have to say I hide anyone who uses the word hune, spell it properly for FFS if you have to use it at all, shudder.

And as for misery posters, gone! Toccata of course you are the most erudite poster on my wall, .

I had a status update last week that said 'well that's it, there's nothing left, goodbye' and I spent an hour debating whether to call her son or go round myself, when I see her she's happy as anything. God knows what that was about.

wannaBe · 19/03/2010 09:45

it is pure attention seeking. "x just can't take it any more." "x has just made the hardest decision of my life." followed by the inevitable "oh what's wrong honey, hope you're ok x" with no clarification. Reminds me of someone I was at school with who used to say when asked how she was, "oh, I don't want to talk about it." knowing full well that people would keep on at her for info and she would invariably ilaborate.

poshwellies · 19/03/2010 12:25

What is this 'chick' marlarky? Few people on my fb call everyone 'chick'-makes my skin crawl.

asteri · 19/03/2010 12:38

Sorry to jump on this thread so late, I have the same issue, its infuriating. Last summer my grandmother died and I clicked on to facebook at some point to send a message to a friend (id lost her number) and my cousin had posted "XXX just wants to be left alone" cue loads of "why, whats up chick?" and eventually a "my nan died today" I just found it distasteful.

TrillianAstra · 19/03/2010 12:39

Agree, hate the posts that blatantly scream 'ask me what's wrong'.

asteri · 19/03/2010 12:43

And she does it all the time so I hide her updates. The worst thing though is that, my nana passed away at home and we all went to see her before she passed and when she did we were all there, when I noticed this update, she had sent it via her blackberry half an hour after she died from my nans house.

SnotBaby · 19/03/2010 12:57

YANBU.

Either you want to tell the entire world something, or you don't.

LOL @ "vaguebooking". Never heard that before.

TrillianAstra · 19/03/2010 12:59

Failbooking if anyone is interested

SnotBaby · 19/03/2010 13:01

Also get cross about the "happy secret we're not telling" ones. Couple of people in my life post things like "...is excited!" then another will respond, "So happy for you sweetie!", then OP says, "Thank you so much for getting me here!", "No problem, you really deserve this!" etc etc

FGS! You. Are. Grown. Women.

SnotBaby · 19/03/2010 13:05

PMSL at Trillian's link!

EllieMental · 19/03/2010 13:06

oh OP I HATE this!
HATE HATE HATE it!"

I have one wh only evbr seems to post things like
: (

I refuse to 'bite' and aks her...but she gets scores of people going ''aw hun, what's wrong''

poshwellies · 19/03/2010 13:08
