I do do agree that whispering is sly. Not allowed in our house. Ever!

Never mind whether there is another room. If you have a no whispering rule, then it might lead to a no unkind gossip rule too and a really good thing that would be. And not just for children. I gave up negative gossiping for lent one year and it changed my life!! But I know that might sound self righteous, so I should add I was a horrendous behind backs sort.

YABU.

Whispereng isn't necesarily sly or consisting of unkind gossip.

Often with kids it's because they are shy.

It could also be someting personal/embarrasing (to them).

Or a surprsie.

Or a fun game that's to be secret from adults like a club or someting.

Or rude funny joke the scary mother driving the car might dispaprove of.

nasty sly bitchy whispering is loathsome.

Some whisopereing from kids is acceptable.

Whispoering by adults though, no excuses allowed (unless it's about great big surprsie presnt for me)

yanbu
my friends dd used to that
she would whisper in her mums ear.....I would sit there wondering wtf I was missing(her dd was obout 7 at the time) thought it was rude.

2shoes · 15/03/2010 17:27

SuSylvester my dd can't whisper, but i wish her bloody VOCA would

sherby · 15/03/2010 17:27

whispering not allowed in our house

it is so obvious

LOOK LOOK we are talking about something we don't want YOU to hear

v rude

margonbread · 15/03/2010 17:30

No whispering, if you cant say it aloud, you shouldn't be saying it at all.

Irritates the hell out of me. My friend's DD does it to her mum and she replies with a whisper. The DD is almost 14!!! Very rude ...

traceybath · 15/03/2010 17:36

YANBU

A child I know does it a lot and the parents think its adorable. I think its incredibly rude and do not let my dc's do it.

JemL · 15/03/2010 19:15

I said "Oi we don't whisper"

How polite
