But aibu to ask DH to wash his own fecking plate when he eats dinner after the rest of us and I've already washed up! He just leaves it festering next to the sit and it is driving me to distraction.

I plan on showing this thread to DH if you all think ianbu because I've asked him about this time after time and maybe he'll listen to you lot!

YANBU
Why is he leaving it for you to do? Are you is maid? Nope. Do it yourself luv.

BessieBoots · 12/03/2010 12:39

YANBU!

DH leaves the dirty dishwater in our sink overnight. It's like a manky gravy by morning. Why, oh why can't he just pull the plug?

Iklboo · 12/03/2010 12:39

DH will quite happily wash his plate (usually) but leaves the cutlery in the cold greasy washing up water

CaptainPicardsPineapple · 12/03/2010 12:40

YANBU. It would take him literally less than 60 seconds to wash one plate one knife and one fork.

He is BU for not eating with the rest of you. Unless, of course, he's doing something worthwhile instead.

heQet · 12/03/2010 12:41

You are not being unreasonable at all!
In fact, why do you always do the main washing up anyway?

Oi, Useless Bloke! Get your fecking marigolds on and pitch in, y'bloody great lump! What, you think the ruddy washing up fairy comes and does it?

It's fairy liquid, not fairy, you know!

hocuspontas · 12/03/2010 12:41

You shouldn't even have to ask him!!

Lazy mr memoo - clear up after yourself YOU ARE NOT 5 YEARS OLD!!!

memoo · 12/03/2010 12:41

He doesn't eat with the rest of us because he often does get in from work til late, not reason not to wash his plate though

I am so going to show him this thread when he gets home tonight and make him read each and every post!

Maybe the wrath of my fellow mumsnetters will make him see the error of his ways

I don't see the point in washing one plate up either.

I think just put it in the sink to soak and wash up when the sink is full.

Get your kids to do the dishes to earn their allowance - this gets rid of any washing up quandaries.

emmymama · 12/03/2010 13:04

yanbu.... washing up is dps job (his only job) while i bath and bed 2 kids (aged 1 and 8 )and he ALWAYS leaves the highchair... since i am pregnant and just over the morning sickness i was less than impressed at noticing it in the morning when i was about to give her breakfast...

skinsl · 12/03/2010 13:11

my dh leaves his plate on top of the dishwasher! Why he can't open the dishwasher and put it in I don't know. Actually I've just realised, it might be clean and he might have to empty it!!!

Sonilaa · 12/03/2010 13:23

leave ALL the washing up for HIM to do, when he is finished... works for me
