glad he's getting some rest, TLES - can you camp out next to him rather than moving either of you?

(btw, did you see I put the pics on my profile?)

EcoMouse · 10/03/2010 02:18

TLE, sorry to hear your DS is poorly!

Ear infections are easy to miss, it happened to a friend of mine recently too. (Give me that darn stick so I can break it over my knee and burn it for firewood!)

You mentioned his urine smelled strong recently? It might be worth asking GP for a urine test, they're notorious for causing feverish temps.

I missed my very own urine infection recently (funny smell only once or twice back in December, got u check while having other tests at docs in late Feb, only to find I still had U infection )

I do hope you get some sleep! You've got to keep well to look after him

poor little love - it might be bad dreams though? DS does it sometimes but seems to go off to sleep again. I feel for you, I really do - I am a mess when anything goes wrong with DS - thankfully not that often.

Has he managed to drink any water or diluted juice yet?

TheLadyEvenstar · 10/03/2010 02:37

TW nope only milk i told nhs direct that and they said as long as some fluids were getting into him it waqs fine.

not bad dreams its as he gets hotter he sobs i am so tired

oh god, you poor thing. DIdn't they have anything else useful to offer you? Like what happens if his temp doesn't come down?

TheLadyEvenstar · 10/03/2010 02:48

yes to call them back.

Am going to take him to bed i think, just concerned because i know he will get in my bed and end up too hot.

I hope you manage to get a bit of shut-eye - I know how hard it is, especially if your imagination takes off, but if you're tired enough you might doze off for a bit. I know you'll wake up immediately if he needs you!

TheLadyEvenstar · 10/03/2010 08:47

As soon as i moved him he woke up but we went to bed anyway. And he is still asleep.

I am so gutted about not going to the event MNHQ picked me for but i just don't think he is well enough, and if it is the start of chicken pox i wouldn't forgive myself if he made others ill.

TLE I hope he picks up a bit today, I have had DD2 ill for ages now, we ended up in hospital when I couldn't get her to drink and she wasn't weeing just to check her over. DD1 has the 'virus' now (and me, sob) It's so scary when they are that bad and you can't help and don't know what the problem is.
Doc gave lots of random advice but a few good ones were to dress her in a vest and have a window open so the breeze cools them, cover them with an empty duvet cover if they want to snuggle under something so it isn't too wamr but they think it will be.
Ice lollies are good but DD2 won't eat antyhing cold so I put grapes in the coldest part of the fridge and then give her them.
Bath also helped when she was feeling a bit perkier as I put the tea party set in teh bath and she drank a load of bathwater, grim but it's still water.
