This isnt really an AIBU i just thought i would put it in here as most of us read this section first.

Sat night dh was working & it was about 9ish when i heard loud music from outside & a thud thud thud noise.I looked outside & couldnt see anything so left it 10 mins.

We live at the bottom of a cul-de-sac & the house next door has a little pathway leading to the park.

Next thing i heard was shouting so i got my car keys & pretended to go to my car went outside to see what the noise was when i could see a group of about 6 teenage boys playing football in the pathway playing music throught their ipod headphones.

We live in a bungalow & ds's bedroom is at the front & the noise was disturbing him a little so i asked them if they wouldnt mind taking their football to the park as the noise was disturbing my ds, i was expecting to be told to buggar off but you know what, all of them said sorry Mrs,we'll go now.

And they did.

These lads were a credit to their parents & it just goes to show that not all teens are hooligans.

In fact in the shop i work in i would rather serve the teens as at least they say please & thankyou.

why is that a suprise to you?

As a parent of 2 lovely teens (although not perfect), I'm not surprised. Teens do get a rough deal from a large portion of society though, and mostly unwarranted.
Thanks for a positive post.

[lol] at thread. Most teens are human beings and behave just fine. It's not really an amazing act of parenting to have normal teenager.

CwtchyMama · 09/03/2010 07:57

Because i was half expecting to be told to mind my own business by them.

They had every right to stay where they were & the only reason they moved was because they were making a bit of noise.

Like i said they could have told me to buggar off & i admit i was a bit scared to approach them,me in my pj's and all but they were lovely lads.

I realised after how shallow i was being scared of them.

Good to hear that someone thought of asking a teen to do/not do something. rather than complaining about their inconsiderate behaviour and lack of telepathic ability.
Thank you OP, as a mother of teens I appreciate it. So does my DD who gets fed up with the constant stream of negativity aimed at teens in society.
DS doesn't notice.
