To think all these "I was chucked out of x for breastfeeding" stories do nothing to the attitudes towards bf?

Now, I have no issue with mothers breastfeeding in public. And I cannot grasp why someone would feel the need to ask someone to leave/to comment etc to them for doing so.

But the stories that end up in the press about it are just over sensationalized and invariably turn out to be inaccurate which does not put breastfeeding women in a good light.

By going to the press, these people are just encouraging comments from those who oppose public bf, and the paper will happily print the over sensationalized story but will equally happily print the negative comments of its readers. And in the meantime there are individuals (such as the bristol bus driver, and now a charity which is staffed by and is there for vulnerable individuals) who are being damaged in the process.

Surely it would be better for there to be a proper campaign to make it illegal to request someone to leave a premises for bf, rather than to keep publishing these stories?

I agree. Media are only interested in sensationalising and polarising. DOn't know why people do not get this.

We have that law in Scotland already.

Tis fab!

No one can ask you to stop or leave. There are still the odd looks occassionally, but you have the right to do it where you please.
