AIBU that 'free swimming' in my LA isn't actually free?

That's it really I'm just mildly cross but not surprised.

I need to register my dc (and give away lots of personal information) to prove that my 5 year old is actually a child.

Once I have paid the associated fee I can swim for free!!

Really? Personally I'd say that having a bed to sleep in was slightly higher in a hierarchy of needs that a swim, but I'm a bit of a facist apparently so what would I know?

Oh FFS. I was JOKING.

We'd started talking about entitlement. And taxpayers money. And I figured it was only a matter of time before someone came along and said I Don't Know Why You Have Children Then...

(someone even did it in the 'my free nursery isn't free' thread!)

...so I saved them the effort. That's all.

If you want to threadjack, I actually agreed with your last post in the housing thread for the record.

Sorry, daysoftheweek. As you were.

runnybottom · 04/03/2010 00:50

Sorry, sense of humour failure. I've had a bad day.

tortoiseonthehalfshell · 04/03/2010 00:52

It was probably a bit stupid of me to come straight off a heated thread and expect to be able to joke about the same thing in another thread, TBH.

runnybottom · 04/03/2010 00:55

A reminder to take it less seriously is perhaps a good thing. I know I have a tendency to climb up my own arse a bit on these things, don't we all?

lol tortoiseshell

you made me laugh, one of the perils of posting on the internet to kind of carry on the tone from one thread to another.....

Interesting how many of us on here don't actually have 'free' swimming

runny it feels like I pay for the whole country in tax
