..after we have been out for dinner on our own for the first time in months...

Instead he wanted to get back in time for Match of the Day and I went off to bed on my own.

Wow LeQueen, you mean your dh has never turned you down to watch football (or similar) ever?

God what am I doing wrong??

I had thought this wasn't totally out of the ordinary for men to sometimes pick sport over sex (annoying yes, but uncommon no) but maybe I am fooling myself, and in fact our sex life is actually not at all up to scratch.

I obviously need to address this situation before it slides any further!

DH has never chosen sport over sex, but he has chosen nerdy stuff over it.

He once tried it on while he was waiting for something to download. Ummm, yeah I am so not hold music for you.

There are times I would much rather be doing something else as well.

TBH I would not bother to go out for a nice dinner on a night when MOTD/ Rugby/ Other dull sport involving men and balls will be shown on the TV.

Waste of quality time IMO. Unless you too are v. excited by men kicking balls around.

Irishchic · 01/03/2010 20:26

I hate football, it's like "the other woman" in our marriage!

I just think that given that MOTD can be taped/sky plussed, and I am there, all dressed up, bit of slap on, the fancy undies on, and I say that it would be nice to finish the night doing the wild thang, and he just comes over all shifty and sheepish and says he'd rather watch the football instead.

Yet I am supposed to put out whenever he is up for it?? (I dont, obviously if I am not in the mood/period or whatever) but I will feel massively guilty if I say no.

Well not bloody any more I won't!

Several years pre-DD, when I was lot slimmer than I am now, I was cast as a Roman prostitute in a musical we were doing - the costume was basically Zena Warrior Princess - a studded leather bra and skirt made of straps - with thigh high boots. I had to take it home with me to sew one of my bras into the top as I was overflowing it a bit, tried the whole outfit on and came downstairs to show DH.

I stood seductively in front of him, breathed a few sweet nothings at him...

The beggar didn't even look at me! Of course, football was on the telly....

Needless to say, I now don't even bother if there's footy on. Nikita, I feel your pain!

Lovecat LOL at that one!

What the hell is it with football anyway??

Gah!!!

DH tells me that half-time is fifteen minutes in football.

That's loads of time. Couldn't you have done it then?
