Some recent AIBUs verging on bizarre social dilemmas. Could be interesting to hear about the "correct" behaviour in certain situations.

That is all.

Good idea

Bonsoir · 28/02/2010 16:38

But isn't every single last post on MN about human behaviour?

BackstreetsOfNaples · 28/02/2010 16:50

What is correct isn't always what is right though.

cakeywakey · 28/02/2010 16:52

I can't see there being consensus on what either the correct or right thing to do is though - it could be a right minefield

antoinettechigur · 28/02/2010 16:57

I just think it could be funny.

Agree that what is correct is not always right!

I think its essential, some of us don't know our place and commit the most terrible social gaffes.

antoinettechigur · 28/02/2010 17:05

I am worried for you Cassandra, really I am.

At any moment you may lapse into consuming liquids in public That is only the beginning.

I fear it is too late for me Antoinette, but there is still a chance I may be able to save others.

LeQueen, even I know one just falls forward onto a cake and takes a big bite out of the middle.

antoinettechigur · 28/02/2010 17:15

We have a duty to let others learn from our mistakes.

Is it best to eat cake straight from the trough? i am confused.

One likes this idea.

I would be more than willing to assist. I am a walking Debretts

pointysayhiphip · 28/02/2010 17:32

I do not understand op. You mean there is one correct way to behave in all social situations?

SarfEasticated · 28/02/2010 17:33

I would like to know if anyone actually uses the word lavatory? I am informed by my editor at work that 'toilet' is a bastardisation of 'toilette' and is therefore a sign of social climbing.

I personally prefer, karsey, and bog myself but am common

CassandraFarquKurrison · 28/02/2010 17:35

SarfEasticated - you have come to the right place for help. Like you I used to think it was socially acceptable to go to the toilet, now I realise bodily functions are common, and I am having corrective surgery.

SarfEasticated · 28/02/2010 17:37

Ahh Miss Farqukurrison, you are quite right, thank you for putting me straight. A bag is the only way forward. I wonder if mulberry do one?

antoinettechigur · 28/02/2010 17:43

pointy

don't worry, stick around and you too can learn that there is always a correct way to behave..

OP posts:
CassandraFarquKurrison · 28/02/2010 17:47

Try Style and Beauty SarfEasticated my dear, they will be able to point you in the right direction for something chic.

SarfEasticated · 28/02/2010 17:50

I feel a 'daily wail' tie-in coming on...

Jamieandhismagictorch · 28/02/2010 18:01

I think that said thread should be limited to the correct use of FaceBook, since many many people seem to lack common sense/social skills in the use theroef.

< mutters in fogeyish way about FB >

WednesdayAddams · 28/02/2010 18:04

It does. Some fuckwit of a keyboard warrior internet creep outed me the other day because she didn't like my posts. She seemed to think that was justification enough.

Morloth · 28/02/2010 18:06

I was on an etiquette board once, it got nasty, everyone has a different idea about what constitutes "good" manners.

BackstreetsOfNaples · 28/02/2010 18:08

So, does MN inject some class into modern society ?
