Woman at work (and MJ fan) said she'd be very happy for her kids to share a bed with Michael Jackson (mind you - she hasn't got any kids). When I said I wouldn't allow my kids to sleep in the same bed as any adult that wasn't family - she quoted the bible at me!!!(something about as MJ was child like he would enter the kingdom of heaven) and told me that I should trust people!

AIBU thinking she's a bit of a fruit loop?

MJ was acquitted on his 1st allegation and the second one he paid off (rightly or wrongly) he was never proved to be a child abuser in any way, shape or form.

Im bowing out also, as he was convicted by the public for something that was not proved!

I would not allow my child to share a bed with a adult anyway, he fidgets too much and the adult would not get a decent sleep.

No he Paid, The chandlers off 1994 and he was found not gulity with 2nd charge and not guilty on the others who had accused him, either way he is and was not guilty

On January 1, 1994, Jackson insurance company settled a civil suit out of court with the Chandler family and its legal team for $22 million against Jackson and his lawyers' wishes. After Jordan Chandler refused to testify in the criminal proceedings, the state closed its criminal investigation citing lack of evidence, and Jackson was not charged with a crime. Jackson's support amongst the public began to waver, and his public image was tarnished to a degree. Prosecution evidence from the 1993 allegations would also be used against the entertainer in the 2003 People v. Jackson child sexual abuse trial, where he was acquitted on all counts.

2005 trial involving Michael Jackson. The accuser was a boy, Gavin Arvizo, who was 13 years old at the time of the alleged crimes. Jackson was indicted for four counts of molesting a minor, four counts of intoxicating a minor, one count of abduction, and one count of conspiring to hold the boy and his family captive at his 2,700-acre Neverland Ranch. He denied all counts and asserted that he himself was the victim of a failed extortion attempt. On June 13, 2005, the jury found Jackson not guilty on all charges.

Sunshine, I don't think anyone can argue that you don't know your Jackson stuff!

Have you ever thought about paragraphs & full-stops?

Glitterknickaz · 27/02/2010 13:38

I'm sure he wouldn't look and smell too great nowadays...

thesunshinesbrightly · 27/02/2010 13:44

TheYearOfTheCat- no not something i feel strongly about, but thanks for the concern.

ThePFJ · 27/02/2010 14:08

I wouldn't let my kids sleep with another adult in the same bed unless it was a CLOSE member of my family or a very trusted long term friend. I can't think of a reason why I would NEED to allow my child to sleep in a bed with another adult mind you. Just because someone is famous and you are fan, doesn't mean you KNOW them or can TRUST them. Thats my twopence worth.

So YANBU.
And your friend is a bit strange?

It is an open secret amongst the industry that MJ was in fact a paedophile with an attraction to pre-pubescent boys.

His "people" as you mentioned would continually advise MJ not to be so public about his relationship with that poor child JOrdy Chandler whose own famiy were happy to rent to MJ - it kaes all sorts

It's one thing to "innocently" sleep with young boys who are not your own son - but if it was so innocent how was Jordy Chandler able to to describe the strange unique mark MJ had in his penis?

If there are people out there wicked enough to rent out their son to a paedo then I don't doubt there are people wicked enough to accuse somebody in his position of something so heinous in an attempt to make money out of him.

My point is, that I believe there was enogh evidence to show that he was commiting these crimes but not enough to lead to a conviction. As he thankfully never raped any of these poor boys there wasn't any physical evidence and the type of molestations he was accused of are difficult to prove as a conviction relies on witness statements.

With the power and money behind MJ it is quite clear that he and his record company would be able to afford he top lawyers who could easily pick holes in a childs witness statement, pariculary a child that is traumatised and may struggle to remember the details that a prosection relies on fo success.

So it only takes one bad apple who is lying to cast reasonable doubt over the the chidlren who were telling the truth.

Come on sunshine, do you honestly think the police would have raided his home and even taken the case as far as it went if they didn't feel they had enough evidence for conviction?

The jurors can only convict someone if they believe they are guilty beyond all reasonable guilt. I remember after the case the jurors were distraught as they believed MJ was guilty but the evidence was not technically backing up the case.

Another point, how about protecting Michael? Knowing that he has this reputation - however fairly or unfairly - if you did allow that and it got out it would lead him to more accusations. Surely any fan, however convinced of his innocence, would want to protect him from that.

thesunshinesbrightly · 28/02/2010 14:31

Ashley - he never described his penis down to every detail look up your facts, it was proven, all they were after was money and to destroy him, i never believed he was a one of those, you can come up with how many facts you think you know.

No one ever mentions the Good he done, media built him up and knocked him down.

not guilty verdict on all counts but some people still want to tear him down, how very sad.

ppeatfruit · 02/03/2010 14:02

Erm Confuddled.. Was the jury in the O.J. Simpson trial correct then ?

confuddledDOTcom · 02/03/2010 14:36

Huh? Care to elasborate?

StephysFamous · 02/03/2010 17:40

Michael Jackson always said he didn't do anything wrong, that is because peadophiles don't believe it is wrong to have sexual relations with children. They think it is natural and the children love it.

I tell you this as the DW of a Detective Sergeant from the Child Protection Team.

CloudDragon · 02/03/2010 17:42

why take the risk.
