Is body toner an unacceptable present for a 9 year old girl?

Am I being unreasonable in thinking that my daughter receiving body toner and fake suntan cream from her aunty as a birthday present at 9 is inappropriate? She is already an extremely thin lil girl and Im at a loss at what to get her to write in the thank you card...

I think that's a really strange gift and probably recycled from a raffle win or present Aunty didn't want. Having said that though, my friend's 7 year old went to a birthday party at a beauty salon! When my friend went to pick her up she found her dd on a treatment table having an Indian head massage, wearing blue eyeshadow and navy nail varnish!!! Plenty of time for that when or if your dd decides to indulge.

Please please please get the Aunt a barbie dvd and some lovehearts for her birthday!

Very peculiar gift for a 9 year old. But then I thought that my niece having a hair and nails party for her 6th birthday was a bit OTT too, IMVHO.

I would ring and ask her if she realised that she gave your dd a body toner and fake tan. Inappropriate IMO.

aunty has no kids of her own I take it?

i don't even like it when people get my 8 & 10 yr old nail varnish etc (kiddies ones)

it feels liek that should be OUR decision not anyone elses

thankfully my DDs are not interested in any of that stuff anyway
