I hope this won't kill the thread but I feel compelled to tell you that Howard in RL was really lovely to me when I was enormously pregnant. I don't work for HBOS but I had cause to be in one of their big offices in Yorkshire. He was very gentlemanly opening doors, etc, and then insisted that I went in front of him in the coffee bar queue.

I have fortunately expunged the contents of the latest Halifax ad from my memory, except for knowing that I thought "Oh no not again"

I don't watch much tv and mostly recorded so we skip the ads - really does make life pleasanter except for being clueless about why you lot are talking about cottage pie.

Hequet- I too hate the Wonga man. A nasty cheap advert.
Also hate the one for Cost cutters (?) supermarket, whn the customer is greeted by name "hello Gary" or something like that.
