In thinking you don't ask for an amount on a sponsor form?

DD came from School today with a sponsor form.
It's a healthy heart day, and they will be doing an inflatable assault course. So far, so good.
It'll be paying for new laptop batteries, again, no issue with this, the kids will enjoy it, and I don't mind sponsoring her, it's part of school life.

I do mind that they say, and I quote, 'We have calculated that if every child from P1-P7 were able to raise £7 each, this would give enough money to replace the 50 batteries that are dead or dying!'

Of course DD wants to get the £7.
I think it's a sponsored event, and up to others how much to give, and the school have now put pressure on to get it.

Yes, yes, it's only £7, but it's £7 that will come from my purse (I don't really have anyone to ask for sponsorship), that would have sent my budget right out a couple of years back.

So am I?

And, could I just say first, I know it's voluntary, I know you don't have to, but no one wants their DC to be the only one who didn't.

I wouldn´t feel obliged to go for the 7GBP as there will be some who go over.

I would take it as a suggestion.

But then it is perhaps to make sure some don´t get a huge amount of sponsors.
