to want to kill the Bounty lady?

I'm in hospital and have been since Friday last week. My baby was delivered by caesarian at 35 weeks because of high blood pressure and IUGR.

He's doing fine in the neonatal unit across the corridor and I'm in a single room on the maternity ward with deranged liver function tests and fluctuating blood pressure. I don't look ill or feel ill but I must be ill for them to want to keep me in.

THE BLOODY BOUNTY LADY has been round to my room every morning. She opened the door yesterday while I was expressing before I said 'come in' and this morning she did it again and said disappointedly "oh you're still here. I thought you were going home". Yeah, because you're a doctor are you? Because you're an essential member of staff and not some fucking hawker for Unilever. I'm here because I need to be here unlike you. So sorry I'm not a new patient you can get your claws into. Scrawny bitch.

I wish I hadn't given her my real details - I don't want any of their crap. I don't see why they should be pushing branding stuff at you and worming your address and phone number and email off you when you're all half with-it from drugs anyway.

Hmph.

Bounty naff me off & that bloody Emma's Diary thingy, they are still ringing me up 3 years on.Told 'em to go & stick it last time.
Tell her where to go,she shouldn't be allowed to bother you in hospital, whilst you are recovering

Lymond · 19/02/2010 18:06

Put a "Do Not Disturb" on your door a lot of the time. Ask a midwife. Medical staff still come in, of course, but people like Bounty lady aren't allowed to come in then.

YANBU, and congratulations on your baby!

LilyLovesSid · 19/02/2010 18:07

Tell her your in a single room due to a horrible, contagious infection. Watch her run for the hills.

Hope you get well very soon, and congratulations on the birth of your baby

GhoulsAreLoud · 19/02/2010 18:10

Yeah they are a bit vulture like.

I took my pack them told them they couldn't have my details. Normally I would be more polite than that but frankly, I had just had about 40 stitches and didn't think it was particularly appropriate for me to be allowed to pester me straight after that.

bearcrumble · 19/02/2010 18:15

Thanks - I didn't think I was being unreasonable. She really pissed me off with her attitude that we were here for her to collect details on, rather than here to give birth, or recover or whatever.

I did tell her that I was planning on using cloth nappies when she asked me what brand I was planning on using so no doubt I am a hopeless case as far as she's concerned.

And the way she didn't hide her disappointment that I was still here!! So bloody rude.

Baby is very cute and doing well. He was 4lb5 when born and nearly back at that weight now. I get to go in three times a day to change and help him feed through an NG tube and have a cuddle.

Ask the nurses to tell her to leave you alone

I can't believe the persistence of the people they employ.

Like you really want their sample of sudocreme and single breast pad anyway.

bearcrumble · 19/02/2010 18:16

I wish I had had your wherewithal, Ghouls.

YANBU - I don't think they should be on the wards at all tbh. If she knocks again lob your breast pump at her!

Congratulations on your baby, hope you're both home soon

bearcrumble · 19/02/2010 18:21

Can we have a mumsnet anti-Bounty campaign???

NormaSknockers · 19/02/2010 18:25

Does anyone actually buy the photos anyway?

ImSoNotTelling · 19/02/2010 18:25

YANBU bounty are bastards.

Congrats though
