To think that for all the bad things Jordan does, straightening her daughter's hair is not really that bad

look at this page

So big deal.

Her daughter has really curly hair, right? If I were in her shoes I'd probably be curious to see what it would look like straight too. I'd do it as well, I know I
would.

As long as it's a one off and not somethig she does on a daily basis where's the harm?

Why is this news in the papers and why would Peter Andre go off his chump about it? (Apparently he has, well, according to the Daily Mail at least )

I'm not saying that you can't see a mile off the road that this little girl will be going down in the coming years but really, I'm sure loads of people would do this too.

Child abuse....

My DD has brown hair, I have blonde hair, should I dye just because I am curious.

2shoes · 18/02/2010 18:43

yes it is bad imo, her dd is beautiful
she doesn't need her hair straightened

nikki1978 · 18/02/2010 18:43

My DD has really thick wavy hair bit it is wavy underneath and thick on top. On the very odd occasion I have jused the straighteners on it. I don't think it is a huge deal but I suppose along with the 'make-over' her Mum gave her recently Peter Andre must be getting a bit annoyed!

MustyOdour · 18/02/2010 18:44

Her dd is funny looking and even funnier looking with straightened hair IMO

juneybean · 18/02/2010 18:44

It is bad, I can see the affects it has on my own hair, why would anyone inflict that on a a little ones gorgeous baby fluff hair.

Comewhinewithme · 18/02/2010 18:44

You can't say straightening a childs hair is child abuse FFS.

HellBent · 18/02/2010 18:44

He goes off his chump about it because he has an album to promote!

I am so over the pair of them. I used to ignore them but they seem to be everywhere now they have split up! If pete says one more time "I don't want to comment, but blah blah blah" then I will scream!

NomDePlume · 18/02/2010 18:45

straightening a 2 year olds hair seems unnecessary to me.

The fake eyelashes picture is worse though. Inappropriate.

" If I were in her shoes I'd probably be curious to see what it would look like straight too"

So I'm assuming that your kids have straight hair ? Were you tempted' to get them a perm just "to see what it would look like" if they had curly hair ?

cookielove · 18/02/2010 18:45

Do u use straighners, they are bloody hot, no part of me would be ever curious enough to see what my child would look like with straight hair (if they had curly) not that i have children, but still i think it is horrible

junglistwaspoorendof · 18/02/2010 18:46

It's just something else for the greaseball to slime over.

Why ??

IMO it is, am I not allowed to have an opinion ??

NomDePlume · 18/02/2010 18:48

Isn't it funny all the people moaning about how ubiquitous this couple are? I haven't seen hide nor hair of them, but then I don't buy the rags mags & papers or watch the tv progs that give them the oxygen of publicity. You hate seeing them wittering on ? Don't watch them/read about them!

Comewhinewithme · 18/02/2010 18:48

Because it isn't ring ss and ask for their opinion I am sure they will go running round.

Yes it's vile and she is a vile woman but it isn't child abuse to straighten her hair as horrible as it may be.

Needs it isn;t child abuse for heavens sake. Burning her with the straighteners would be child abuse

ShinyAndNew · 18/02/2010 18:50

I been abusing my children for years. Ever since they were old enough to plonk themselves down on the floor next to me and start rummaging through my make up bag while I am getting ready for a night out.

And old enough to say "Mine hair mummy. Do mine hair" Dd2 looks odd with straight hair. Dd1 desperately wishes she had curly hair, occassionaly I indulge her and use tongs or rollers on her, but no one has ever reported me to SS for it or sugested that I should have my children removed from my care.

NeedsWillWhenBarrattBuilds · 18/02/2010 18:52

Apologies for not conforming.

SpicedGerkin · 18/02/2010 18:53

No but i have tonged it, and straightened it, jail me now

MustyOdour · 18/02/2010 18:53

we are just saying we disagree, nowt wrong with that

Jamieandhismagictorch · 18/02/2010 18:56

Wankers. The pair of them

I thought that to be honest, even with the makeup - Jordan has a make up "artist" - snort - come to her house, I KNOW my dd would clamour now and certainly back then to be made up once. ANd I would have allowed her as a one off - probably would have had the sense to not post them on facebook though! As for the hair, yup, have straightened and curled dd's, she's got older cousins and they loooooooooove playing with her and each others hair.
It's just normal to me, as long as it's not a daily thing.

hocuspontas · 18/02/2010 19:06

God, I wish people wouldn't do links to the DM celeb page!!!!!!

I always have to read all the links down the right-hand side

Simon Cowell's got engaged JUST when Chezza's becoming available! Is he kicking himself do you think?

With regards to the hair I don't know what to think. At least it's not permanent like pierced ears - THAT makes me more sad on young children.

GenevieveHawkings · 18/02/2010 19:10

No I wouldn't perm their hair (it would be far too time consuming and costly for a start ) but I would certainly strighten it just to see what it looked like.

Wash her hair and it'd go back to normal. No harm done.

As someone else has said some kids find this sort of stuff fun. Obviously, if I were doing it, I'd suggest it first, if the child didn't want it I wouldn't dream of doing it against their wishes. If they did want it but were distressed once I'd started then I'd stop immediately.

Child abuse? FFS, please, come on.

Child abuse is defined as behaviour that causes or is likely to cause significant harm to a child.
There are matters of opinion of course but to argue something is abuse you at least need to describe how it is, or could, cause significant harm. If you can't do that, it's not child abuse.

Fact. Lol.
