In thinking that a bus driver shouldn't judge you for catching a bus

DS was awake, getting hungry although not complaining. The cheapest place for me to eat lunch whilst feeding him is about two stops away from where I was - but is right up the top of a hill. So I got on a bus, with the buggy, and using my disabled pass (I have ME - wouldn't have been able to walk up there). He looked at me and said, "I'm only going to X, you know." Feeling slightly embarrassed, I smiled and said, "Yes, can't make it up the hill!".

As he printed off my ticket he said, "You could just walk, you know."

I was using a disabled pass, I wasn't the only person on the bus, and its not as if he was having to go out of his way for me. Am I BU, or was he being rude?
