Hormones taken over at 40 weeks pregnant.

Thought I would use our Tesco vouchers to book a break on the Isle of Wight. Looked at the Lower Hyde Park Resort Gold Caraven, 4 nights, Ferry etc £33 left to pay. Seems fab deal with a toddler and a new born. Once we are out for the day, we are out, only really going to use the resort to sleep etc.

OMG the reviews I have read! TERRIBLE!!!

AIBU, someone please tell me its not that bad!!

I stayed there a couple of years ago with my parents in a Gold caravan. It was great. Had the decking area outside which really improved the playing space for DD (then 3) and my cousin (then 8). It was lovely seeing the rabbits out on the grass in the morning/early evening. The caravan was really clean but as someone said, take some milton wipes with you. (My mum always rewashes all the dishes and pots before she uses them!). We had a slight problem with the central heating (ie - we couldn't get it to work) but the maintenance crew were around in about 10 mins and sorted it for us (ie - explained it to us in idiot proof language!).

Both kids loved the Sparky Krew Klub and the clubhouse is okay - and at least it is much more family friendly now that people can't smoke.

We didn't use the pool there - we went up the road to the Languard site which has a much bigger indoor pool with a slide and the kids liked that much more.

It is handy being so close to the centre of town and having the Lidl next door is great.

You will have a great time.

My friend went to the one on the IoW - she and her 3 teenage daughters enjoyed themselves. Only downside was the weather was awful!

DH and I took DSS and DS to the one in Bridlington, we had a lovely time and problems were sorted out and we paid for a Platinum caravan and it was beautiful and well equipped. Would definitely go to one of their camps again!

softglowsandmaybes · 06/02/2011 09:55

Can anyone recommend a Park resort park in the South of England, we have enough club card points to pay for a holiday and i am about fit to burst!
