Gosh Gerbil - the guy on your link is terrifying. His jaw looks as if it needed a dressing room all to itself.

and the eighties hard grainy filter....it's not just hairstyles and make up that date costume dramas...

Oh yes - Mr Wickham in the JW version! He looked about 15 - nothing rakish about him at all.

Firth, Firth, Firth!!!!!

CrowAndAlice · 13/02/2010 22:03

Apparently alot of decent love stories stem from this story - obviously Bridget Jones and every single Mills and Boons book. Twilight too.

How we love to warm their cockles.....

Yes - Edward is deffo Darcy. I thought that when I read Twilight. A pity Bella isn't a patch on Elizabeth.

Cranreuch · 13/02/2010 22:08

KK's laugh really annoys me in the Joe Wright film version, she sort of hisses through her teeth. I liked both well enough, but neither Colin Firth or M M are the definitive Darcy. There is still room for another few versions. It is weird how the period drama dates.

Speaking of period drama dating DH bought me the 1974 version of The Pallisers recently, the one with Susan Hampshire as Lady Glencora. I was so disappointed, it is almost unwatchable now.
