AIBU to hate/detest the Malteser woman on TV. I feel quite violent when I watch her talking to the little soldiers and then turning to see if any of her friends are laughing at her. Now I've realised there are a few ads with her - I feel I can't watch TV any more and she may have put me off Maltesers for life (which could be a good thing!!). Is it just me???

I hate them too because they seem to be saying the only way women get their way is to be sly and manipulative (ie they are basically powerless so have to resort to that) - I wouldn't dream of behaving like that.

One of them she buries her husbands shirt in the garden as he is asking for where it is. Another where she gives her friend some doll jeans and pretends she has shrunk them and another I think where she lifts her top at a man in her office.

Childish and puerile!!

And agree about small chocolate balls with honeycomb in the middle being described as naughty.

Like the one where a woman is looking orgasmic over a special k bar - I hate that mentality. I mean we all know things like that don't really hit the spot.

Can't imagine that ads like this are dreamed up by women.

sincitylover · 24/02/2010 14:03

Also agree about dulco ease - is having hard poo a particularly woman thing - I for one have never discussed that with my friends.

Why would you get hard poo anyway? Too anal about pooing ? LOL Is that a female trait?

nevereatbrownsnow · 24/02/2010 14:21

YANBU, she's eating MY maltesers

Jamieandhismagictorch · 24/02/2010 14:28

You would have to have watched Loose Women to see Smug Woman, 'cos that's the only time the advert is on now, I think

upahill · 24/02/2010 14:30

I've heard about 'loose women' but never seen it. It gets a bit of a slating at times in the media. Really must stop in more!!

Besom · 24/02/2010 14:32

There's one where she gives her husband off milk to drink. I've always thought 'what a bitch' at that one. Even when dh being a total tosser I wouldn't do that to him.

saggyjuju · 24/02/2010 14:39

i have a friend that behaves very similar which at times can be funny but other times cringe worthy, but i must say the one on tv has a sly face that gives me the urge to slap her, strange when you consider i have only ever slapped my younger sister when i was a little one and shes a right bitch to this day,MIAOW!!

Remotew · 24/02/2010 14:40

There are two women. The one from the IT crowd who exposes her bra to a male colleague, amongst other things.(Imagine if it was a role reversal). Then the other one when loose women are on. The ads really annoy me. She seems to hate her husband. Letting him drink rancid milk in his tea and shaking his beer.

I absolutely hate those special K bar ads aswell. The slim girl sees all these lovely sticky buns and drools but hey it's OK to look like me you have to eat those disgusting cardboard chip ones instead. Makes my blood boil.

Mumcentreplus · 24/02/2010 14:43

The advert I cant stand at the moment is the one where the woman says 'I used to eat sour yogurts'..WHY???..ffs..Why the hell would you eat SOUR things if you dont like them???..no one is forcing you to buy them!!

piprabbit · 24/02/2010 14:43

All poo and wind-related adverts are targetted at women.
Hard poo (Dulcoease's bitchy women)
Runny poo (Imodium's woman who can't leave the house)
Bloating (Activia yoghurts Tummy Loving Care)
Indigestion (Gaviscon's hunky? fire men)
There's another foul one which compares constipation to carrying around a handbag of partially digested food.

I can only assume that men do not suffer from these complaints and that my DH's horrendous farting is in my imagination.

swanandduck · 24/02/2010 14:50

Can't stand her. I particulary hate the one where she and her friend make the garden gnomes talk to the elderly man next door. I would sell up and move if I lived next door to her.

ps I love Loose Women although rarely get to see it.

MaryAnnSingleton · 24/02/2010 15:02

I still don't know what the Loose Women connection is

swanandduck · 24/02/2010 15:08

Maltesers sponsor Loose Women so they have a little 'funny' promotion at each ad break.

MaryAnnSingleton · 24/02/2010 15:23

oh ! thanks swananduck

swanandduck · 25/02/2010 11:32

I actually think that woman is mentally ill. She deliberately makes her dh sick and buries his favourite things in the garden, torments the old man next door for no apparent reason, and hides in the playhouse from her children when they are looking and calling for her. I think she should be sectioned, her kids taken into care and the poor bloke next door should sell his 'neighbour from hell' story to the Sun.

upahill · 25/02/2010 12:41

Swan..... Your last post has made me giggle!!!

sass41 · 01/10/2010 13:13

The annoying thing is she thinks she is sooo funny, as though she is a real wit. I think perhaps she is a little simple and perhaps we should pity her. I can't imagine that Maltesers have had any increase in sales. Do their marketing department really think women are that stupid?

JjandtheBeanlovesUnicorns · 01/10/2010 13:27
