was I this obsessive when my oldest child was pre-school?

I think so, yes I was

dunno, most of the relationship ones seem fairly problematic to me

also ones that involve escaped chickens etc

heQet · 03/02/2010 17:34

YABU. They may not be 'important', when compared to other things, but if it is seen by the person concerned as a problem, then a problem it is. You can't decide from outside the situation that the person who is living it shouldn't think of it as a problem.

AMumInScotland · 03/02/2010 17:34

Well, if it feels like a problem to them then I suppose it is. But I think the answer is quite often "take a deep breath and don't worry about it"

But I'm sure I was just as bad when DS was tiny, there just wasn't any MN to ask.

sunburntats · 03/02/2010 17:36

may no be to you but to who ever is posting it is a big problem

Also, some times it may jsut to get some one to talk to you iyswim, jsut having a bad day and wanting a kind word or two, so jsut post something for a chat.

I know i do that occasionally

overmydeadbody · 03/02/2010 17:37

they may not be big problems, or life threatening problems, or even real problems at all, but if the situation is bothering the op then it is a problem for them and airing it on MN can sometimes be enough to help.

2shoes · 03/02/2010 17:37

yabu
they are problems to the people who post them

MaMight · 03/02/2010 17:37

But something doesn't need to be earth shatteringly important to warrent a post. I am currently getting advice about ds's bad sleeping. Much worse things are happening in the world than ds's nocturnal habits, but my life might be improved, and my understanding of my son's behaviour furthered by garnering advice. Where's the harm?

Jamieandhismagictorch · 03/02/2010 17:38

I think that's precisely why MN is so useful

cornsilk · 03/02/2010 17:38

Don't read them then.

cheesypopfan · 03/02/2010 17:51

YABU. surely whether they are 'small' or 'big', the point is that people can talk or vent on here in a way they maybe can't in RL and get, usually, helpful responses.
