I am frozen FFS!!! I am sitting here with a hat and scarf on! AND i have my heating on - albeit low (cant afford to have it higher). The snow was fun, all very nice, but move on - i want summer NOW

YANBU

I know it is winter and I should expect it but it still pisses me off.

a) cos of the heating bills

b) cos dp's asthma plays up hugely so I can't have a freezing cold house and no matter how much he wraps up it makes no difference as it's breathing in the cold air that is a prob.

BUt then I hate summer as well so I probably should be shot.

Francagoestohollywood · 01/02/2010 11:35

YANBU, it's been an extremely cold winter here in northern Italy and it is said it'll be very cold for another month .
I'm fed up and I have sinusitis.

I must say that I like warm weather, I don't get too bothered by the heat.

madusa · 01/02/2010 12:55

i too am in desperate need of some warmth.

I am so looking forwrd to summer.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 01/02/2010 12:57

Me and dd were just saying this morning that we want the summer to come. it snowed again overnight and we've got about 30cm laying outside our flats. The temperature was -7 and it just isn't funny.

OprahWinfrey · 01/02/2010 14:30

Oh please come on summer!! I have never been this cold in my life. Is it because I have never had to run to the nursery and run back several times a day to drop off and pick up ds?

OprahWinfrey · 01/02/2010 14:47

I think I need a thick hat and thicker gloves.
Just feel like I'm always cold and have soo many layers that I can't move! Ds doesn't seem to mind the cold though and we ended up playing in the park on Saturday. Actually it was me standing there shivering while he ran around. He misses the park and I had thought it would be good excercise or me. But I had forgotten that it's much colder in an open field and icy winds. oooooooo....I'm feeling cold just thinking about it. It's no fun anymore. I've tottaly had enough of the snow. I want to see a daffodil. Or even a bud. I need a sign.

compo · 01/02/2010 14:49

Well it's going to piss it down tomo so at least it's dry today

SleepingLion · 01/02/2010 14:52

I nearly cried when I opened the curtains this morning and realised it had snowed again

It feels worse somehow because we aren't going abroad this summer, so no guaranteed sunshine this year. I just know that after a freezing, miserable winter, we will have a rainy summer...

lematthedogs · 01/02/2010 14:52

thanks for that compo!!

I can't actually afford for it to be winter for much longer (we put £35 in the gas meter on friday and it has just gone onto emergency!)- and i think im developing a case of SAD! I just want to be able to take DD to the beach and enjoy it, or to the woods and not have to bundle up like the michelin man!

Don't get me wrong, im not a cold wuss really and will quite happily bundle up and take DD out for some fresh air, but there is only so much you can do outside in the cold. I took DD and her friend to the park on saturday and could stand only ten minutes - even the girls offered no resistence in coming away!

lematthedogs · 01/02/2010 14:53

I would probably be happier if it did snow actually - at least i could take DD to build a snowman or out on her sledge and everywhere would look pretty and white and new

Well, we've been so hacked off with the weather we've just booked 2 weeks in mid France in July. The children have already worked out how many weeks (22), and are drawing up a chart to tick off the days. I keep drooling over the website pictures of the pool, in between panicking about saving up the money!

Actually, it's worked out fairly reasonable, and I asked for a discount for booking 2 weeks, and paying in one go - not sure how we're going to manage that yet, - and they came back and offered a good discount, so it's worth asking.

Anyway, I DON'T CARE, I'm going to be warm, eventually!

Mallenstreak · 01/02/2010 15:59

YANBU - I have just had foot surgery and can't wear proper shoes/boots for 2 weeks. Going out in this weather wearing crocs is no fun at all!

southeastastra · 01/02/2010 16:01

poor you mallen, i had on two pairs of socks and boots and my feet are still freezing

Mallenstreak · 01/02/2010 16:05

Thanks southeastastra. I have now developed a streaming cold which I will blame on the crocs

lematthedogs · 01/02/2010 16:09

definately a medical fact that you get a cold through wearing crocs, it sneaks through the holes you see!

OP posts:
OprahWinfrey · 01/02/2010 16:18

Can you put socks on with your crocs?

princessparty · 01/02/2010 16:29

It's still only the first of Feb , so plenty more winter to come !

ALT2 · 01/02/2010 16:32

YANBU - time to emigrate or hang in there another couple of months Feb (the worst month of the year in UK) always gave me SAD, had to leave.

onlyjoinedforoffers · 01/02/2010 16:37

i am loving this Winter ,cold and frosty with all that snow better than wind and rain

Mallenstreak · 01/02/2010 18:04

Oprahwinfrey-yes I went out Saturday without socks and had to rush into a shop and buy a pair. I have been wearing sox 'n' crox since but not a good look and still have freezing feet!
