I read your post and boy was I annoyed. I saw my arse! I thought, that RonaldMcDonald, she's got a liberty, pinching one of my favourite expressions.

She'll see my arse if she does that to me again!

CillySunt · 31/01/2010 21:43

Never seen it before.

Vallhala · 31/01/2010 21:44

PS God knows where it started but I recall it first of all said by someone from Milton Keynes circa 2002.

diedandgonetodevon · 31/01/2010 21:44

I did see this on one thread but I assumed it was just a typo- what on earth does it mean?!?

minxofmancunia · 31/01/2010 21:46

tis very common in mancunia

used to hear it on an almost daily basis when I worked on the in-patient psychiatric wards.

Means losing your rag, getting in a strop et al.

bellavita · 31/01/2010 21:47

According to the urban dictionary it means you make a fool of yourself and get upset about it.

mrsboogie · 31/01/2010 21:47

I just read that - its a brilliant saying - am deffo gong to steal it.

RonaldMcDonald · 31/01/2010 21:49

i am very old

Its not an expression I've not heard before.

My favourite "arse" expression is:

"He couldn't find his arse with two hands"

(urban dictionary definition: Someone who does not have a clue about what is going on around them. A person that has to have jokes explained to them. Even worse, someone that acts as if they don't understand something even when they understand perfectly)

NorbertDentressangle · 31/01/2010 21:54

oops to many 'not's in that

NorbertDentressangle · 31/01/2010 21:56

oops again , 'too many'

(time for bed methinks)

stressheaderic · 31/01/2010 21:57

Is very common phrase up here in Scouseland

lematthedogs · 31/01/2010 21:58

I don't get it - but apparently, my DP has "seen his arse" tonight. Im mighty perplexed

SerendipitousHarlot · 31/01/2010 21:58

Round here - Cheshire - they say if someone gets the hump, they're 'showing their arse'

Lovecat · 31/01/2010 21:59

Norbert, the version of that I know is 'couldn't find his arse with two hands and a flashlight'

WeWantYourDoofDoofs · 31/01/2010 21:59

Have heard of the expression "got his arse in his hands", meaning he's in a state/tizzy/having a hissy fit (I think at least?) but not your one.

MadreInglese · 31/01/2010 21:59

means being in a grump

lambanana · 31/01/2010 22:00

seen his arse - a common saying around these parts (liverpool) to not like or disagree with something and get a cob on

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 31/01/2010 22:00

We say it, "he's seen his arse" means he's in a bad mood/angry, same as "he's taken his ball in"

TigerDrivesAgain · 31/01/2010 22:02

my grandma used to say "he looks like he has his arse in his hand" meaning "someone's smacked his bum and he doesn't like it". usually said of the vicar.

lematthedogs · 31/01/2010 22:02

oh i love "he's taken his ball in" you can just imagine a little lad getting a strop on and taking his ball indoors!! hahahahaha
