Don't feel nervous. As for the issue you raised, similar things happen all over. Don't let it get to you or your children.

notapizzaeater · 30/01/2010 22:41

I'm a governor and I'm normally hiding so the teacher doesn't make eye contact to moan at me about DS - so no its not always good things !!!

motherlovebone · 30/01/2010 22:42

i wouldnt care to be honest.

the parent guvs at our school are all ok, though one does have hair like a birds nest.

edam · 30/01/2010 22:43

sounds miserable.

Doesn't work like that at ds's school - he was one of a dozen narrators last Christmas, the first one since I got elected as a governor.

sanfairyann · 30/01/2010 22:43

you could always stand for committee/governor if you feel that bad about it.

mine do get picked for stuff quite a lot, am governor, but then they are also very confident and articulate. I don't see why they would be given special treatment cos i'm a governor - what would that achieve?

Certainly doesn't happen at our school.

Have been active in the PTA for four years and my children have not had any special treatment - which is exactly how it should be.

Spannerweb · 30/01/2010 23:01

I always found the PTA lot had horrible kids. I appreciate that is not necessarily a fair comment and that not ALL of them will have horrid kids, only the large majority of them did....

REALLY horrid kids.

welshdeb · 30/01/2010 23:23

Ha I wish. I am chair of gb and on PTA and my children get no favouritism at all. In fact my ds was one of the very very few to not have any words at all to say in the last concert. However I prefer it that way as I feel I can be critical if needed without reservation.
