To make the driver take the food away again?

I'm worn out and ill today. DH has gone away for two nights so I thought I'd order a delivery. When the driver came to the door for some reason my card didn't work in his machine. I used it an hour earlier in Homebase. There's plenty of money in the account. I don't normally have any problems with my card but it wouldn't work in his machine.

I offered to pay by cheque but he said, 'no we don't take cheques'.

So he 'phoned his work who told him I had to go to a cashpoint with him and get money out. I said, 'I have three young children in the house and I don't want to leave them here.' He (the man on the 'phone) said, 'Take the children out with you' I said 'no. The whole point of this was to make my life easier.' Obviously the pizzas aren't getting any warmer during all of this.

Then he said to me, 'I'll call back in five minutes'

The driver had gone back to the car to get his 'phone so at this point I walked out, gave him back the pizza boxes and said, 'forget it. I'll cook!' and went back inside.

Then the man 'phoned again to say this isn't acceptable. You HAVE to go out to a cash point' And we argued about whether it was his machine or my card at fault.

The whole point in spending £33 was to make it easier for me. So I said 'No'.

I think they were unreasonable to try to make me leave the house to go to the cashpoint especially as the pizzas would be cold by the time I got back.

So. AIBU?

Exactly Milady.

It's is not Deliverance Digitalgirl.

I have just called my bank who tell me my card is fine and the funds are there.

I have emailed the company to let them know this.
