AIBU to think it's not on to post out an Ebay item with grime on the collar?

Sorry if this should go in 'Ebay', but I was horrified to get a jumper with a filthy neck the other day. It also smelt strongly of stale perfume. I mentioned this to DH and his attitude was 'Oh well, not everyone's as fussy as you'. I feel I am very reasonable with ebay, I never leave neg feedback and accept items won't be 'perfect' or 'like new' - but is it too much to expect them to be clean, or at least not visibly dirty?!

Is it reasonable to post out an dirty item?!

I bought a car seat from ebay to use very occassionally the other day. It was local pick up and smelt very damp and was covered in cat hair. Absolutely disgusting and can't beleive someone would sell that especially when they know someone is coming to collect in person. Have washed it once already and there is still cat hair on it . Some people have no shame/ standards and I found that quite shocking despite being less than perfect in the cleanliness department myself

post neutral feedback and just say "could have done with a wash" or something. I have done this before when we had baby clothes which hadnt been washed.

That's grim.

I'm increasingly disappointed with my eBay purchases, I find that people are economical with the truth a lot of the time...I have v high standards I guess but there always seems to be one little thing that the seller has forgotten to mention, eg B.O. under the arms of a coat or that a top is quite faded. Gah.

I would contact them and see what they say.

I bought a top advertised as BNWT - arrived smelling of smoke - really foul.

Sent it back and got all p&p refunded as well as the item. She wasn't happy though.

Some things are brilliant, I think it's the minority that take the p*

TBH I would just stick it in the washing machine. It would be different if it was something that couldn't be washed. I agree though it's not nice.
