Am fuming. Hi everyone. Have a two month old & popped into a clothing store yesterday and picked up a few things & payed using my card. Tried on at home - bit dishraggy - so asked DH to return as he was n town today. Gave him my cc to credit back onto same card as debited day before. BUT salesgirl says no, I have to sign something or it is fraud. Never been an issue before - as long as return has gone on same card and PIN correct then what is the problem?? So, I will have to make a special trip now. Is this a load of BS or true?

I would of done it. I only look at the cards last 4 digits to check they match when I process a refund, then pin gets entered and the customers can take the card back, its after all that I take their details onto the computer which then kicks out the receipt that the customer then signs, so I would be none the wiser! Whoops... But im pretty sure that was how I was told to do it...

TBH I live in fear of the day im asked to sign for something instead of putting a pin in, im more often than not shopping with DH's credit card!

Ha that was "no no no" you all misunderstand me, not "no no no" I'm very worked up about this

ImSoNotTelling, I think it might be the knowingly allowing someone to use somebody elses card that is fraud. Maybe. I think. Im all babybrain still. God knows what im going to be like when I return to work in 7 months!

They didn;t need to see the card when I did it though. They couldn't obviously as my mum had it

They just reversed the transaction.

Maybe it has all changed with chip n pin or something. i just can't see how returning the money to the purchaser can be fraud though.

Deffo the OPs DH using her card and pin is against the banks rules.
