He's 2.6 and has been waking around 5.15am. We've read all the books, tried (I think) every trick in them.

Last night we were trying wake-to-sleep, so I went and roused him at 4.15am. By 4.30am he was awake and up for the day.

My eyes feel like they're bleeding...

I wish my ds had a volume control, but it was broken at birth!

Hope you get some rest later!

We ALL wish that! And a mute button.

And came with a remote control - rewind would be SO useful. If they came with a rewind button, I'd still have a half decent house

Agree with all the above. Our dd is 8.8 and very loud and energetic. When she was a baby though her dummy was the off switch.

YADNBU! Both my boys need on/off buttons.
DS1 (17.5yrs) needs to be switched on more often, and DS2 (8yrs) needs off and mute!!!
DD1(15yrs) is ok, but sometimes I need a mute button as she has to tell me every nuance, every feeling, that everyone had/said in her extemely complex friendship groups. It's nice that she wants to talk, but it sometimes sounds like a typewriter tapping away furiously.

I've always thought that, if I looked hard enough at my boys, I'd be able to find out where the batteries are, and take them out.

I've tried the live pause button on the sky+ remote, but that doesn't work, nor does the mute button, as others have said.

YANBU.

Both my boys and my dd (12 months) need on/off buttons.

Ds1 needs a pause (to think about what you are doing/saying) button.

Ds2 needs a fast forward button to speed him up when he is having a wash and getting dressed or undressed - or not tidying up for that matter.

Volume control and mute would also be most welcome for all of them as well.

HeQet I love the idea of a rewind button, no more arguments about tidying up. Hmm, but then again if they'd been rewound wouldn't they just get their toys out all over again?

Last summer my MIL took our dd on holiday. She apparently asked her if she had an off switch. We know exactly what she means. Not sure dd got in though.

We have days like that with ds(11) - he is either so chatty it just dominates the conversation or taciturn and clingy ! But why on earth wake him so early ??????

DS wakes up at that time every freaking day.

I'm heavily pg, DH is at work & sick and I'm at the end of my tether. He's screaming now in tiredness but won't sleep. I'm crying with tiredness.

Can't take him anywhere as car broken.
Can't walk far because, frankly, I have a really sore pelvis.

He's otherwise a joy.

Do you have nearby grandparents?
