..an animal testing laboratory !!
He rang me from school this morning to say this is what the school has suggested when he said he wanted to do lab work for work experience.Apparently they have placed students there in the past !
Apart from the obvious upsetting nature of their work, the place is often frequented by animal rights activists who have not only targetted people working there but also employees of any companies doing business with them !!

I probably would have anjoyed this placement.

I went on work experience in the path department of a hosptial. I got to see a post mortem, and also went into the histology dept where they stored body parts in white buckets. Saw parts of a hand, liver, kidney, heart and various skin biopsies. Highlight of the lot was a perfectly preserved brain in a vat of formeldehyde.

I absolutely loved it all, and what was also fascinating was the level of respect that the lab staff showed towards these specimens nand also towards the dead. It was en eye opener.
