Sorry for the lack of details but was in the car on a short trip and caught about 5 minutes of radio prog just before 11.30 (sorry dont know the dj) and dj and guest were discussing the "plus size models" thing and this dj said that quite a few women aspired to looking anorexic.

Am IBU for thinking he is a total twunt and this is an insult to women especially those with eating disorders.

I am in my 40s now and am a size 14 and probably (definatley) a little overweight and while I would love to drop a stone and a dress size I have/would never want to look like I had anorexia.
Who aspires to an eating disorder ffs.

Actually the basis of eating disorders isn't even fat phobia but most people seem to think it is. It's much deeper than that, but comments like that are belittling to women, yes. Like we worry about weight because we're shallow and concerned with appearance above all else.

I think people do aspire to look anorexic, not realizing the way they are heading.
My good friend and i are both 5ft11. We used to swap clothes in our teens. We were both size 12, but looked skinny because of our hight. She is now a size SIX, and still asks to borrow my clothes, she wanted to lose a few pounds, and has overdone it without knowing. She still things she is the same size as me, and i am a 14 now.

If that is their aspiration then they are fools. What an indictment of our society.
