DH says it is too busy, overpriced and we should go out another night instead.

Now, DH is not the most demonstrative of men, he's not one for romantic gestures or compliments, but I'd like it if he would make an effort, just for this one day. We can afford it and babysitting is not a problem.

So, am I being pathetic?

We always go out on the 13th instead. For some reason people seem to think it's unlucky so the restaurants are always pretty empty.

Besides which, we were going to get engaged around Feb and wanted to avoid V-day like the plague as it seemed so over-sentimental. So we got engaged on the 13th too.

V-day is fine for sweethearts, and for a nice card, but I would never go for the overpriced flowers or 'special V-day menu'.

We're out for a meal (non v.day menu) on the 13th too, on actual V day, will hopefully be too busy shagging to order to actually eat.
